In the early IL-2 days I remember very often flying a damaged plane out of combat zone. Nowadays, if I get hit the damage is most often enough to force a bailout.

The exceptions are LaGG, B-239 and FW ... those can soak very much damage... heh the B-239 often feels more sturdy than a P-47 with the stopping engine bug...

Has everyones aim improved a LOT or is this more DM-related?

Since the release from FB shooting is much easier. Bullets travel almost straight except for maybe the bf109 machine guns. The bullets still drop alot from those guns.

Bullets fly more straight and do more damage when shot at large distances (300-600 mtrs) compared with the old il-2.

You can shoot of wings from 500-600 mtrs with yak machine guns for example. Try this with il-2 /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
