View Full Version : whats up with the 7?

why so many sevens in wwii?

jg77, jg27 even the game starts with a 77 p51

im curious because i was born in 7-7-74

maybe pilots liked to command their luck to this number? for example why not the 6

even though this number brings me to some unfortunate awesome coincidences i still like it

although my fauvorite number is still 0 and i would like to be able to carry it in my plane

once i asked my father if some culture at some time considered to be infinite and 0 the same thing he said not, once month later i would read a comic "gilgamesh" in which he would have found an alien race that represnted by a dot 3 things god, infinte and 0

One divided by zero equals infinity. It follows from this that infinity multiplied by zero is equal to one.

Why do things fall? Sure, I know what Isaac Newton said, but why?, I mean why don`t things fall UP!

And how is it we seem to be the only truly living planet in the Universe perfectly placed to get sustenance from the Sun and enjoying a vibrant weather/nature system? I mean - it`s a bit of a coincidence, isn`t it?

Why`s the Earth and most planets round in basic shape? Why not square, or triangle?

And why- *Censored by every Mod on the planet* http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/353.gif

Not true. The limit of 1/x as x aproaches zero is infinity, but one divided by zero is undefined, i.e. it does not exist. Proof of that is in your post. Since any number multiplied by zero is zero, infinity times zero is still zero, which results in the inconsistant logic if one over zero equals infinity.

And I'm not going to follow this thread for 17 pages arguing over this. If you don't understand it, look it up (http://mathforum.org/dr.math/faq/faq.divideby0.html).

Let me rephrase above as follows then :

One divided by zero equals infinity. It follows from this that one divided by infinity equals zero.

That must make more sense surely? I mean, chopping up a piece of cake into a million pieces would leave precious little over.

As for the seven - it was perhaps chosen for its runic looks.

Well, it's more accurate to say that the limit of r/x as x aproaches infinity is zero, where r is any real number. But r/0 is nonsense. You can't cut a cake into x pieces in such a way that each of the pieces is zero cake, and you can't cut a cake into zero pieces. You can eat the cake, but that's a different matter http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Infinity is not a number and cannot be used in any mathematical functions or operations. Infinity is a concept. Proof of this is in your post aswell. How is it that something can take a finite cake and chop it into an infinite number of pieces? You can't. This may be why you chose one million. You can't add to inifinity, subtract from it, multiply it or divide it. Taking 5 from a limitless supply does not limit the supply, and dividing it in half is impossible. These mathematical proofs you've done are not flawed in their logic, but they apply the concept of infinity in falacious ways.

Now you only need a track of it to confirm. You'll have to set Arcade=1, though.

Strictly speaking mathematically, inifinity is defined at least as a boundary condition if not absolute.

Division by zero is undefined in any formal mathematics regimen. To claim it is infinite is wrong. I've seen this pseudo-argument before only usually from sites claiming worship of Gaia, healing crystals and other assorted piles of feces.

To reply to Raaaid:

There are a lot of numbers in ww2. I'm sure that if you analysed the occurance of each number specifically in terms of some other variable, you will get that there is no significant difference between any of the digits.

This is another example of a post-hoc theory. You notice something, like the date of your birth, which sensitizes you to the number 7, and then you start correlating everything you hear about 7 as converging to something you've decided on before hand. Scientifically speaking, this is the reverse way you're supposed to reason. You're supposed to try to satisfy the null hypothesis. Ask yourself, "is there any chance that the number 7's occurance in ww2 is just random?" and then try to prove it. If you can prove it, obviously, your experimental hypothesis is false, despite all the evidence you have to the contrary.

Mathematics can't deal with infinity. It's not the correct paradigm to define it.

God is, was and is to come.

Basically, this means that we are caught in some kind of time bubble. We seem to be able to control our destiny but everything that will happen has happened already.

The universe is, but never was, and nor will it be.

God is infinite. Everything else is nothing.

I am not preaching religion.

I was merely pondering the consequences of what is said in the Bible.

Why is it that people take so much offence at the word God? Liken it to reflection on, for example, the theory of relativity.

By the way, regarding the seven, in Continental Europe it is written with a stripe in the middle - that's why I say it may have been chosen for its runic looks (in addition to possible other reasons).

i would like to be able to carry the 0 in my plane which i cant because of this:

if you look to infinity from infinity youll see it as nothing

when you are drawing in perspective you are doing this:

draw a spot in the paper from it it comes everithyng a rail a street a line of trees, is the spot you are looking straight up to, the infinite space at infinite distance but at the same time nothing but a spot, its called the scape point i think

id like perspective if oleg made a 360º view for bob i would buy the game twice it couldnt be bad if you dont like it dont use it
