I flew this bird for the first time both off and online. It is fun to pound ground with, but in a dogfight, it is a real piece of junk. I never flew it before patch, but it seems to be modelled accurately. also, its tough to read the instruments even though they are in english!!

you never see one online anymore,

can you remember the last time you seen anyone in a mk1 online?

the only thing that was wrong with it in 1.0 was it climb but now it has a below climbrate and the 303s can take down a he111 or stuka by pilotkill only online.

I last saw some1 flying the Hurribus Mk Ia last night, infact if memory serves I saw about 12...it's my Squadron's mount you see. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
It is possible to take down He-111s but they're tough as nails (increased armour in comparison to the BoB model I believe),fast too (in comparison to the Hurribus) and with the rear gunner 'issue' it makes it twice as tough to bring 1 down.Never had much of a problem with Stukas, I prefer attacking them from underneath except they rarely oblige me by flying straight and level long enough to get a decent burst in.

Funny. I was testing a Mk1 online yesterday evening. With British markings! Needless to say, I was slaughtered!

If you can fly one and make it past an enemy base you win the prize, what a piece of crap, even though that's what the British mainly had to take on the ME-109 's during the Blitz. The Spitfire s didn't come outtill later August.

Shoot I grab one just about any chance I get. If not that I'm on the other side in a 109. I prefer the MK II model, but I have no trouble with the .303's.

You simply have to know where to tickle your opponent to make him go down.

Every take-off is optional, but every landing is mandatory!

I find the cannons in the Field Mod version much stronger post patch. I have taken wings off He-111's at close range with them and pre patch I could never do that.

See you in the fence.....

I find the best way to knock down an enemy bomber is a head on attack. Any aircraft with a handfull of machine guns can take down a 111 on the first head on pass.

Salute

Try the Hurri I on a server where the only German fighter is an E4. (which was better than the E1's and E3's in the BoB)

You may be surprised at how well it performs when flown correctly.

And the Hurri IIc is still a force to be reckoned with, given a bit of altitude and speed. Pity the poor 109 who lets one get above him.

But it is a plane which does not really stand a chance versus a properly flown F2 or F4.

The Spitfire MK1 entered active service in August 1938 (two years before the Battle of Britain). In July 1940 it made up 35% of fighter commands available fighter planes. Hurricanes accounted for 50% with the remainder comprising Blenhiems and Defiants.

Eh, the first Spitfire squadron became operational in 1938.

Trivia: The first kill by a Spitfire was a blue-on-blue where 2 Hurricanes were shot down.

I found the roll rate on the Hurri MkII was so slow that everyone was out turning me. even if I had a bit of speed.

Great for taking out Bombers (goodbye wing!) but not for me in a Dogfight.

Buzzsaw is quite correct, on a server where it's main opponents are from 1940 and earlier, the Hurribus can make a good name for itself and the 270 plus 109s shotdown by Hurribuses can vouch for that.1941 or later the Hurribus pilot really has to be special to come out on equal terms. As it was in real life.
Once the Spitfire was available in greater numbers and the Typhoon (Hurribus replacement) became Squadron ready, it was soon relegated to other duties.Although I believe it still flew in the Far East as a fighter for some time after 1941.
