Just wanted to make sure everyone could do this.

1. Wait for any enemy to hit you while you have a medium weapon (sword, mace, hammer) up and blocking.
2. Once you see the sparks immediately get out of high profile and attack (Ezio will do a fancy-ish swing).
3. This will break ANY guards' defense and can be immediately followed up with a combo kill.

I use this all the time. The great thing about it is that it doesn't leave you open to attack if you time it wrong, and you can 1-hit-kill brutes and seekers with it as well.

Bladen, stop posting these threads, your stealing all my ideas >_>.

Anyways, about the only thing this cant be pulled off on, and only occaisionally, is seekers. seekers are frikkin hard to hit unless you disarm them, beat them to death with your fist, or deflect-counter them.

i always wondered what the deflect stats were for. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

i used to do just counterkills or mash combos (when using counterkills becomes too repetitive). definitely try this out someday.

It doesn't have to be just a sword, mace, or hammer. It also works with your short blade, spears, or two handed weapons.

Are there other attack combo that exist? I find AC2's attack sequences lacking compared to the Prince of Persia series. Unless, of course you can teach me some that I have not discovered.

I can't make it work. I know I'm timing it right. I'm releasing high profile and pressing X (xbox X) even before I see the sparks. Ezio just deflects the attack and then does his own regular attack. Is there anyone who's managed to pull this move off consistantly?

It depends heavily on the weapon you are using...make sure you have one with a high "deflect" rating. I pull it off consistently with both Altair's Sword as a long weapon and the butcher knife as a short blade. I'm also pretty consistent with a spear.

Also, you have to press the attack button twice. The first time he does a normal attack, the second time he does the combo kill.

Thanks, I don't know the stat off the top of my head but I've only tried it with the Florentine Falchion. I'd been wondering if the deflect stat was worth anything. I never noticed a differenced between either weapon (including fists) in it's ability to slide a gigantic axe/sword harmlessly to the side. I'll try it out with a different weapon.

Thank you! http://media.ubi.com/us/forum_images/gf-glomp.gif

You can do this with anything above a level 3, MAYBE 2 deflect rating. if you cant do it, its your own fault, no offense. you just have to get the timing right, and then its extremely simple.

I really suck at it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif I must have tried so many times with Altiar's sword that I covered every tenth of a second within the amount of time it takes them to strike. I think I got it once but it didn't look like what was described. He just deflected it normally and then did an average swing that connected with the guard's body. I followed it up right away with several other attacks but Ezio just chained the attacks together rather than finish them off right away.

High Profile (blocking)-Guard hits sword-Let go for RT/R2 when you see sparks-Immediately hit X/Square right when you exit High Profile.

Remember this won't kill the guard, but will leave them open for an immediate combo kill.

I did it! Thanks for the help. But you were wrong about what weapons work for it. I've managed to do it with daggers and spears as well. I bet it could be done with an axe but I haven't tried that out yet.

EDIT: Yep, axes/claymore work.
