The Mosquito is a sweet plane, and if it ever makes it into FB I'll be sure to fly it. But have you ever noticed how cramped the pit looks? When seen from the front it looks about as spacious as a Cessna 172, there's not a lot of shoulder room in there.

I'm not sure, but I think the crew were staggered slightly. Ie. the navigator was about a foot behind the pilot.

think there was reasonable room, most planes are cramped tho
also a safe plane

I have patiently waited for the De Havilland Mosquito for several years now.

This aircraft makes me proud to be a Canadian above all else.

Having been fortunate enough to have previously had access to a Mossie i can confirm the crew positons are staggered with the Navigator just slightly behind the pilot and by WW2 standards they have a reasonable amount of room.

I just hope Oleg lets us have this bird as a Christmas present, obviously he has had a few major legal issues to deal with which must have delayed his work to incorporate third party models.

Of course, we will then also need the He-219 to hunt and kill it

Well it's now more when than if.

The model is acceptable to Oleg with only a small number of minor corrections needed. It might be released as AI first like the Tempest.

Nothing has been promised but it is possible. Can't say any more at the moment.

pranger i emailed 1c with a bunch of bits... no reply yet http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

he219 is ugly, but pretty much the best nightfighter (very fast) the germans had. not many where made, and i think mossies got a few of them http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

aprently only 108 mossies where shot down, and 88 damaged beyond repair. (to all causes) rather surprising and my well be too low.
loss of 1 every 2800 sorties http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

wonder how many db and bmw and jumo engines will get burnt out tryin to catch mossie/run away from http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

I do love the mossie, dear ole girl, but sorry, if the He 219 makes an appearance, it will rule!

how can anyone call the Uhu ugly? especially fo ra german ac, its quite pleasant to look at IMHO,...looks quite dangerous just sitting on the tarmac

Nasty in all aspects...top speed, accel, ceiling, cruise speed, range, fair manuverability, aw2esome firepower, super visibility and constitution

Was first production ac with ejection seats and UV lighting for instruments

RLW and OKL really dropped the ball on this one, they could have had Uhu's in numbers by early 44...just as they did with the He-280, which they could have had even in 43!

Uhu was a night fighter, but more than capable for almost any other role, with lots of stretch in the airframe, just like the Mossie

Is there no way for us to get the navigator's position? This is something that will hamper the Mosquito just like it hampers the Beaufighter to ahistorical levels of rear view.
