For those considering upgrading their graphics card.

I received my Creative Geforce4 Ti4800 128Mb card yesterday from www.komplett.co.uk (http://www.komplett.co.uk) 170

This is a Ti4600 but with 8X AGP and should not be confused (in Europe at least) with the Ti4800SE which is a Ti4400 with 8X AGP.

I plugged it in, set the AGP to 8X (for some reason my BIOS didn't seem to register this), overclocked it modestly from 300/650 to 320/670 and installed Detonator 44.03.

Started up FB in my usual 1600 x 1200/32 with 2X AF and no AA and was getting 30 - 35 fps in cockpit. Disappointingly it was only about 5 fps up from my Ti4200 64Mb.

BUT, with the Ti4800 I can set full AA and AF and still get 30 - 35 fps in cockpit! The image quality definitely improves but the fps don't seem to change at all from the lower AA and AF settings to the higher ones! (The Ti4800 also fixes the night vision and freezing problems I've been having with Rainbow Six:Raven Shield.)

If you can't afford to jump to the big league to get an FX5900 etc., and you don't trust the FX5600 like me, go for this card, it's great, just hard to find.
