Every copy in my local area has now gone from the shelves, must mean that SoW will roll out soon eh?

When SoW comes out things will change I think, hopefully the kill*****s will migrate to those online servers. Downside is there will be a lot of Ace, diehard 1946 old hands left in the servers.

I expect to get shot down more than ever :-(

I just bought mine the other day and I had a tough finding it. Finally went to EB Games site and saw that they had 1 last copy at a store near me. Fry's didn't have it nor Target, Circuit City, Best Buy and some others that I checked on.

Please say it's not so. I'm dying to get my hands on 46, but I'm not schedule to return from the Sand Box until this Fall.

I hope it's just a local shortage. If it's not available locally, can you still order it on line?

Bear,

I'm on travel out to San Diego right now. Just stopped in to the huge Fry's in Mission Valley.

Not a single copy of 46.

Come to think of it, not a single copy in the Fry's in Austin TX either.

The day it came out I bought 3 copies (2 for freinds in the states) and some other guy bought 4. Since then I've not seen another copy in that branch of Game (Brighton, East Sussex, UK).

I was talking to the manager of the EB near me just last week(a friend I'v known since high school)and he said that nearly every copy of 1946 that he sold came back because no-one could get it to play on their rigs http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I have never seen a copy of '46 in a store in the UK.I would imagine that most are sold online.

My local Game still has at least one copy on the shelf. Every time I go in with friends I pick it up and say "now THERE's a game you need to buy", and they give me a long-suffering look. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I'm in Preston, Lancs, UK.

Games are not usually on the shelf for long after they are released.

The copies are gone when they are gone, and then its a case of ordering it from the shop.

SHops work on the 'rush' of the new titles.

I wouldnt be worried that the title is gone off the shelf, it happens to all games.

They must not have tried very hard. I wonder how many of those people were putting it in the CD.

I visit three EB stores on a regular basis all in about a 20km radius where I live and none have any left. What surprises me is they have lots of the first IL-2 Sturmovik for sale for $20AUS.

I do still see some copies around the major stores in Leicester, UK. But I think it is drying up.

When I first saw it there were about 10-20 on show for 30, then about a month later they were going half price and the number dropped to about 10. A month later, I don`t see so many.

But in the trade stores like Gamestation and CDEX there are a few copies going cheap and I`ve been considering buying a spare. I even saw AEP going which I`ve not seen in along time.

Actually, to tell the truth, I did try to buy another copy of 1946. The kid at the desk put the discs into the case and I noticed that the discs were for IL2 forgotten Battles! I pointed this out to him and it was obvious he had no idea. He said that`s how it came to him from another customer.

`You`ve been had, " I said.

Someone had bought `46, swapped their IL2 FB discs for it and returned it to the store. Very naughty.

I wonder if it was anyone here? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

I've yet to see a copy on a shelf, in my area at all.

I pre-ordered mine form Gogamer so if anyone else in my area got it, I imagine they did it online aswell.

Now I did see at best buy the combo series, FB,Lomac,???
and they still have 1946 listed online still too.

I'm very grateful for your offer Bearcat, but a quick check shows that Gogamer has 1946 in stock. I can't imagine that Jason will run out before I get home.

This is my second tour as well, so give your cousin my best.

Try your best to assure you get the U.S. version of 1946.
It is a 'clean' version without all the 'CP' headaches.

Had not seen it around here (west sub., Chicago) but then I got mine from Go-Gamer.

Would not think it'd be a good seller here unfortunately as I seem to live in a cultural desert of a sort (i.e., not many folks I know around here interested in history or what's going on in the world- just money http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif)

What a weird coincidence! My 1946 just quit on me today and refused to work after a reformat. Looks like I may have to buy a new 1946 again!
