I especially find the Blom and Voss design ideas intriguing.

It all makes sense now. Ta-183, what a gem!

"In late 1942, Focke-Wulf engineer Hans Multhopp headed up a design team that started aerodynamic studies for a new turbojet fighter. This culminated in 1945 as a fighter project known as "Huckebein" (a cartoon raven that traditionally makes trouble for others)"

Never heard of the cartoon until I read the note at luft46. We have Woody Wood******, Daffy Duck, Donald Duck and a pair of crows from some old cartoon I used to watch as a kid. I think the crows (Heckel and Jeckel?) were pretty old when I was watching, but they caused plenty of trouble. The animation seems to be around the same period of early Tom & Jerry. Not sure, though.

Crimson Skies (don't laugh too hard) seems to have used Luft 46 designs as signposts for it's aircraft.

Crimson Skies is a hoot. Flight model, what flight model? It's as arcade as they come but an interesting and fun premise to play. I enjoyed the h*ll out of it. It's too bad Crimson Skies 2 is an X-Box only. (I refuse to own/play a console.)

Re Cajun76:

lol I had missed that entirely. I think Huckebein has managed to have the biggest joke on all of us yet. That is incredible.
