Hello Everyone,

I just bought IL2 1946. I have been able to connect and play on several servers on Hyperlobby. When I go to Ubi.com, however, I can't seem to get in a game. I get the following error:

You can't join or create rooms for this reason :
IL2:FB Dogfight not installed.

I have downloaded pretty much all of the patches that are on ubi.com. Besides, I was under the impression that IL2 1946 was the latest and greatest and had all of the patches.

Any suggestions?

Hmm, thats a wierd error.

Is Hyperlobby not finding your 1946 install>?

You know that its the Forgotten Battles Room that you want? Not IL2?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

That was quick!! The Hyperlobby stuff works fine. I am selecting FB and then when I try to join a game I get the error.

Why would you want to use UBI.com anyway mate?

Hyperlobby does everything and much more

But here anyway :-

I tried that fix with the registry but no dice. I did notice that Hyperlobby had many more people on it. I guess I'll stick with Hyperlobby since Ubi.com is no good.

Known problem with UBI COM ( Ex Beta Tester of it )

Ok first thing you are trying to enter the correct game i take it ie a 46 server and not another version..

K in windows go start
all programmes
ubi soft folder
last window
click on set up
in that click on the network tab when it opens
in there is there a window called IP and has it got the words default in it? ( might not have the window, not all have)
if it has click on default and select the last number (bottom one) that will replace default, then close that and try again..........

if that does not work come back and say and we will go through a couple of other reasons.

Did all of that but no window called IP. The only things I had were a box (checked) for Skin Download and PORT :21000

I am not sure there is any point in using UBI.com mate?

Isnt everything on UBI.com on Hyperlobby anyway plus a lot more?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yes I think you are correct. It just kind of galls me that I have a brand new game that won't work on the manufacturer's own site. The Ubi.com tech support weenies told me to download the patches and I told them that it was a brand new release and should contain all of the patches!!

ok,

Did you install the game in the default location, such as c drive or did you put it in a separate folder say games, or even on another drive? did you also just run 4.071M or did you locate that into the games folder manually and does it show as you boot? one reason you get the error is ubicom looks for the game on c drive, cannot find it so puts up the message as its not there, so you need to tell it where to look, actually unzipping 4,071M into the game folder should do that.

you need NO OTHER PATCHES just 4.071M

I installed the game in the default location. Nothing special about my install. I couldn't get it to work on Ubi.com after the install.

I finally discovered Hyperlobby and proceeded to install the 4.071m patch/update last night. I went back to Ubi.com this afternoon but I still get the same error.

I just double-checked and it is installed on the C hard drive.

I could try unzipping the 4.071m into the folder direct. Do you have any suggestions as to which specific folder it should be unzipped into?

Ubi does a very bad job in keeping this game playable online. Just play at Hyper - you'll find more players there anyway.
The error is probably caused because a windows registry entry is not present or points to the wrong directory.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yeah, I fooled around with the registry but it still didn't help. Hyperlobby seems like the place to go.
