i've been flying the p-51 lately, and i think i have a grasp on how to use it effectively. i usually get to around 10,000-14,000 ft. and i zoom and boom. but i have heard that the prop pitch on the plane is very important to know. i was just wondering how important is it and if so can anyone give me the low down on the pitch system for it. i know how to use pitch and all, i ususally just use it for when i get to alt. and go into cruise. i'm starting to like flying it and want to continue flying it only more effectively. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I honestly don't play with the prop pitch too much except for long distance cruising at high altitude. What I think you really should focus on is the radiator.

The P-51 has that lovely auto radiator system which takes all the work out of it. Except its open all the time. Maybe when you don't want it to be. So I manually control that and it seems to give me the edge. I run with it partly open for cruise and close it for combat. I fully open when I have to.

Being such a clean fighter having the radiator open just a bit is a huge difference in the drag and given that it has less horsepower than some of its competitors it really needs that low drag advantage. Even with the meredith effect in place (I think thats what its called) the radiator system isn't magical so it needs work too.

Works for me anyways...often I'll find that only the P-51, Tempest, and FW190 allow you to fight against sometimes overwhelming odds because ultimately you can point the nose downward and leave most other types of planes in the dust.

It says that they only keep files for 100 days after the last download; some of the files are still up there, but many have gone.

I suggest that you put the videos on youtube or stage6...
