I am not asking for a release date but would you mind giving a general schedule of how the plane add-ons will come out. Originally Oleg wrote that the fixed version of the patch would also contain add-on planes so could you elaborate on the changes.

Right now I am assuming that a free add-on will be released in the reasonably near future and that a pay add on will come after that. Any info you have on that would be appreciated.

Release dates are bad. 1C is learning that.

I would like to know as much as anyone else, but, that creates an overwhelming anticipation and, when that date comes and it's not released because it slipped for some reason (they ALWAYS do. Doesnt' matter what company or program you want to look at) people scream bloody murder.

Actually, I think the dev updates are bad. I'd personally rather not know that anytthing was being worked on until they had it finished. Finish it completely, take a few weeks to campaign it while you get it ready to ship and there ya go. You'd get pleasantly surprised by each product and no agonizing waits anymore. lol

Matt and all,

I don't want an exact date ...

I don't want a definite date ...

I don't want a schedule ...

I would simply like to know Oleg's

approximate

ball park

estimated

educated guess

about when he expects to release the first batch of aircraft.

Something between, but not including ...

Monday, September 8, 2003, 0800 hours and 35 seconds GMT

and

someday, soon, after, later, in the future ...

Thanx

As you can see above I did not ask for a release date. I am more interested in the general gameplan for upcoming releases. I am personally looking forward to the P-51 and P-38 so it would just be nice to know how Ubi Soft plans to go about bringing out these upcoming planes.

It wouldn't even bother me if I had to pay for the first add-on but it would be nice to know before-hand that the first one was going to be payware. The last I heard was that the first one would be free but I also heard that it would be released in tandem with the final version of the patch so if that has changed it would be nice to know.

Bucinda,

Yes, it would be nice to know. Even if they aren't very sure of the schedule or methods, it would be nice to know that. But all they say is, "after", "soon", "later." I've asked several times and no one will go beyond that. I'm sure they are thinking about it, but they don't wish to include us.

Look at all the patches for IL2......dont think it cant happen again. I cant even imagine the variables involved in working this much code. It is mind boggling to me. I will just wait and see but I must admit I am disapointed in this patch overall.
