Hi all,

I can speak only for myself, but for example for an aircraft like the Me110 I don't care if the rear cockpit is finished or not.

In fact, I will fly it only as a pilot, so if the front cockpit is finished why not put this aircraft next in FB?

Cheers,

hi,
because: sometimes the developer have a little problem to create the correct pilots + gunsight views ...but we have the hope at all..
in this spezial plane we need the 'Bismarck' + other ships
for the 'Swordfish' as one of an old technic styled plane but one of the best seafighter + torpedos in the Atlantic sea war for GB.

If you like to fly this plane in IL2FB.. try it in a cold storage depot... hehe /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

The il2 field mod has the rear guns and you cannot cycle to them, I dont see the harm in it not being there besides the ai is much more accurate then a manned gun

Honestly unlike the Il2 you will almost never find yourself switching to the rear gunner seat in the 110. You'd always be much better off flying the plane and using its forward crunch power than dinking around with the single MG17 or twin MG17.

Like someone else said the Il2 field mod doesn't have a mannable rear gunner even though it would be extremely simple to implement. Cut a TB3 gunner resize and put there. Do I miss it? Never. I'd rather be manuvering and letting the AI take pot shots than become a target drone.

If its all possible id rather wait and have it, personally when i fly Il2 or Stuka i often switch between pilot & gunner when keeping lookout for planes. Altho i must admit i dont use the gunner to shoot at planes that much....

In co-ops online the rear gunner position is often occupied by a second player in planes where it is available

just a comment:

if you would look behind you in the bf110 as the pilot, you would see the rear-gunner. that means the rear-gunner must be modeled to look back as pilot.

If there are more pilots than planes. But if there are more planes than pilots (90% of the time). Rarely does anyone take a back seat unless they are those that don't have a stick. Sitting in back is not fun, especially when all you have a little pop gun and get micro second bursts because a 110 will be heavily manuevering unlike a Il2, stucka, or bomber.

About after 30 minutes I puked all over my airplane. I said to myself "Man, you made a big mistake." -Charles 'Chuck' Yeager, regards his first flight

BTW I guess I should add that the rear gunner on the 110 really wasn't intended as a great rear defense but to provide a denial of area for inside shots on a wide target.

It covers the area a small single seat would be in a standard turn shot following a turning 110. The gunner's presence forces slashing attacks and outside shots.

-- In fact, I will fly it only as a pilot,

hmmmm, if you wanna get the feel and canopy look of Bf110, try the current (*PrePatch*) P~47 razorback (not bubble back) with flaps in COMBAT notch. Its a bit slower than I~16 at low level, but it rolls slow, and turns well, but loses energy fast. Alot like Bf110 (EDIT:: except for the famous P47-esque stall). And the canopy is full of struts, like Bf110.

Now, the firepower is great, just like Bf110, and so is the ammo load (you can choose extra ammo for P~47) and so you can actually join AI missions with "fellow" Bf110s and get the feel for it.

Granted, there is no 30 caliber gunner, but who's gonna notice. Just remember, you can't raise flaps above COMBAT notch.

But don't tell anybody you are doing this. grimsmileyface.rbj

btw, I just read that the Bf110 were the only aircraft that could escort German bombers to Norway, and a team of them shot up an airfield, but the landing troop ships didn't come on time, so the Bf110s landed and captured the airfield--mainly through bluff. Don't forget, before BoB, everybody thought Bf110 was the most exotic and Super~Fighter in the world, and Germany considered Bf110 pilots the elite of elite. But that didn't last long. grimsmileyface.rbj

Actually, I've had great fun doing missions as the rear gunner of a Stuka.

And whenever I do, I sure seem to do a lot more damage to any attacking fighters than the AI guys do. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
