View Full Version : What to do with a drunken sailor?

Leaving Kiel in yet another new boat, I ordered Heinrich (for 'twas his name) to plot a Kiel Canal out course. He was swaying backwards and forwards, singing "It'll be a Lovely Day Tomorrow" in a slurred voice, and hiccuping.

I was suspicious, because this is the same chap who once rammed the boat into Denmark and later turned left after leaving dock at Lorient (the band stopped playing and we had to reverse into the Atlantic...) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_redface.gif

Just as well I checked his plot:

I had to navigate the Canal manually at x16 or less, and finally had enough of him. Any suggestions as to what I should do with him gratefully received.

Kielhauler -

May I suggest lashing him to the bow of your boat and then proceed full speed ahead on his plotted course?!?

See if you can squeeze him in one of your torpedo tubes.

and then of course try to fire him into those annoying mines

Thanks for your input guys. I'll combine your suggestions at the moment and tank-tape him to one of the outside forward torpedo tube doors.

What shall we do with a drunken sailor?
(repeat twice more)
Earlye in the morning

Chorus:
Hooray, and up she rises
(repeat twice more)
Early in the morning

Put him in the guardhouse til he gets sober
(repeat twice more)
Earlye in the morning

Chorus:

Put him in the scuppers with a hose pipe on 'im
(repeat twice more)
Earlye in the morning

Chorus:

Heave him by the leg in a running bowline
(repeat twice more)
Earlye in the morning

Chorus:

Shave his belly with a rusty razor
(repeat twice more)
Earlye in the morning

Chorus:

That's what we'll do with a drunken sailor
(repeat twice more)
Earlye in the morning

Lol!

I was wondering if anyone would make reference to THAT sea-shanty! Thanks for posting it! I didn't know the words before, what a hoot! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

The pre-plotted Keil Canal course only works accurately if initiated from the dock. Once you move out of your boats' berth, the plotted course will have to be adjusted.

The humor in the first post, reminds me of The Good The Bad And Bernard (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tGNI_UcHDQ) video.

If you could write some stories about this drunken sailor, Socko would have some competition. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

@ AtlantikEel:

I figured that was where I, sorry Heinrich, went wrong. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif Just hate Kiel so much want to haul outta there asap! As Kapitan I take all the credit and delegate all the blame.

Ronin_32: you must have been pub crawling Cape Town in the early 80's coz we used to get 'legless' most nights, and do just that stuff.
