so ive had this laptop for awhile now , and for some reason it wont load SH3 anymore . i ended up throwing the disc in the river , and downloading the game ( which i did buy ) and it still wont make it past the Ubisoft start up part. i would really hate to have to throw this $3150. 00 laptop in the river , because it plays everything else ( ofp , IL2 etc..) extremely well .anyone got any ideas ?

Go to the "View System Information" page under "My Computer", and check to see that your system still shows the correct specs. (particularly memory)

It sounds like you lost something on the "hardware side". (Chips and memory cards can and do loosen up over time.)

also, try to do a fresh install: first, uninstall the game, pass the utility to erase Starforce, erase all files but those of your campaings and try again.

the specs and everything is fine , and ive uninstalled it and reinstalled it , but to no avail something has changed somewhere and it wont even load the ubisoft screen . it tries. but locks up . the only thing i can think of now is to smash it and buy another one. course thats my computer literacy for ya.

I recommend to remove the movie files from the intro folder. Rename your previous SH3 folder in 'My Documents' before testing again.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Having a corrupted save game is a known cause for that behaviour.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Want to keep have multiple installations of SH3 and keep your careers separate? Download MultiSH3 (http://mpgweb.de/downloads/index.php?act=category&id=6)
