having to uninstall and reinstall Catalyst Control Center? I've yet to figure this out or find a way to get the latest drivers WITHOUT CC Center. But since CCC is on my machine how do I update JUST THE DRIVER PORTION of the thingy.

Thanks in advance...

Dunno the solution to this, but can suggest a work-around:
http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif Do not use CC Center, but try the ATI Tray Tools (By Ray Adams) (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733)

(They do stay put when uninstalling/installing the ATI drivers... and you can still tweak lots of things. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif )

Hi Worf101.

https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=...nowledge&folderID=27 (https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27)

Select your operating system, then card type, then driver version, then download the seperate components (catalyst, driver, and anything else you need) from the "Low speed dial-up" section.

Having then installed each, I THINK that each can be removed seperately using "Add and remove programs" in the windows control panel.

If this is the case, when you feel the need remove the old driver, having downloaded the new from the same ATi link.

Hope this helps. If I'm talking ****, then sorry in advance.

Good luck.

Sure you can. In add/remove there are separate listings for dirver and control panel. If you use the uninstall utility, everything goes.

When you go to install the new driver, select custom, and install the new driver only. At least thats the way I remember it.

Plain driver and ATI Tray Tools all the way. CCC is garbage is you ask me.

Yep. ATI recommends removing the old driver before installing the new versinos, but I've had nothing but problems doing it that way. Go ahead and install over the old driver without touching it.

Thanks for the love folks. Hmmm seem's I've a quandry on my hands. Is there a place to get the OLD pre-CCC driver interface? If not I'll just download the driver and go up from there...
