When ever i started playing this game from the day it came out i was shocked to see Knights Templar standing there, ZOMG! I love Knights Templar but after killing one i saw a Mysterious Chest they where standing infront of.
After going to the trouble of killing him i was wondering what is in the chest that i might be able to get my grubby hands onto, new weapons, new armour, Knight Templar Helmet or Robe maybe? No, nothing, i dont wanna sound ungrateful but it was a let down after killing him which at first encounter is a tough fight.

Will this be soming new for a sequal. i hope. Anyone else have the same Dissapointment as i did?

No because most of us knew that there would not be any new weapons or attires for Altair.

By the way, it is not that hard to kill a template, just throw him to the ground and assassinate him with the hidden blade.

No. Not the FIRST time. I tried, but he saw me. The SECOND time, however...

Just about everyone in these forums new how the weapon upgrades were handled, long before release, there had been enough info released, as well as people who went to Montreal and actually played the game.

It's possible to have a life, but also be so involved in other things, like video games. And some peoples lives are all about video games. Consider your words before you speak them.

what would you do with the templar outfit anyway? and doesn't anyone think it's a bit far-fetched that every single knight would be the exact same size as Altair, and what would he do with his clothes and weapons

That's how it is in most games. ^^ I think it's a bit unrealistic, hm?

smed07 I was giving you a suggestion on how to kill Templars by knocking them down to kill them, and not trying to start an argument. If you took that the wrong way then you are a ******* and should leave the forums, because everything you read on the internet you will take the wrong way. Sounds like you don't have much a life after all, since you cannot socialize with other people.

First of all,Altair cant carry anymore weapons than 3.Second,wearing armor would make him to heavy for free running.Third, why would you need to open a chest?Just assassinate a target and BOOM you get a upgrade.AC doesnt really have the RPG thing going on.Except for the abilities and weapon upgrades you get.

i reckons its a reference to the actual Knights Templar. they set up the first multi - branch banks in the world.

the Templars set up and secured a route from england, across europe to Jerusalem for Christian pilgrims. people traveling along these routes had a document that could be used like a bank card to withdraw money from any Templar along the route. the Templars each had a large chest of gold and the document had the persons current balance on it. thru a code system the Templars could ensure that it wasnt tampered with and cause none of the pilgrims had cash on them while traveling they were safe.

so i reckons the Chest is a reference to this.

I found an easy way to kill them from my first encounter. I was escaping gaurds, spotted the templar ahead so directed a run at him and shoulder barged him down, then blade to the neck http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Wrong, If you get the Attention of the guards and in pursuit on the roof tops guards will Free-Run after you, so the fact that armour would make him to heavy is rubbish.

I didn't have the same disappointment mainly because I'm so unobservant that I didn't notice the chest until I'd killed about twenty of them.

Actually I responded to this thread mainly because I was amazed at the level of snippyness and just plain old rudeness such a harmless post has resulted in. Is it me or are these forums starting to get more antagonistic in the last few days?

I don't know why you guys are dissapointed. If you guys are having trouble I am sorry. I have had great success throughout the game. Templars are the hardest thing in the game. Don't get into a sword fight unless you have the counter ablilty. I am on my second play through now and I have found that if you are lucky or good you can walk right behind them and knife them in the back.

Actually anyone in the game has the ability to free run, but they are restricted in the abilities that they can perform while free running. For example, I was in Acre one time on a boat and I hit a drunkard, and he started free running across the platforms and other boats. I was amazed.

Guards can also free run, but not to the extent that Altair can. For example, in some situations they can't jump as far as you from building to building, but they can still free run.

Civilians have teh EXACT same abilities as Altair. But,they dont use them.Sometimes when teh game glitches it happens.Like would you see a fat guy in 1191 hopping around like a freaking maniac?Well maybe on my 360 but..still.
