I was trying single player training missions and something is wrong.

1)after a few minutes of the computer showing me how to fly or whatever, the plane will start going towards the ground by itself and end up crashing, this gives me a mission failure. I've tried taking control of the plane but then the instructions stop and I just fly like normal..what's this all about?

2)also. my first player career was to escort He111's with a flight of 109's. When I took off I could never catch up to the 109's...they were always gaining more and more distance and end up being in battle and i'm not there to help..What am I doing wrong? Should my flaps be a <raised> when im' in the air or <combat> flaps?

3) this is more of an annoying problem.
Whenever i'm flying i have my joystick right beside my mouse which is on one of those sliding keyboard desk things...so when im coming up to an enemy i use 2 hands for steady accuracy/flying..I always bump my mouse and the camera cockpit view moves around and I have to hit 5 again on the numpad. Is there a way to "lock" mouselook so this doesn't happen?

1) i think the training missions have never worked well

2) hm, are you playing the original IL2 or forgotten battles ? i havent had any problems at all catching up to my team mates in FB in the original IL however it was impossible and as far as i know was never fixed. you have to live with it. while you try to catch up to your squad dont use any flaps at all. use them only for take off and landing or if in a fight but even there i rarely use them.

3) i have rarely use the mouse for view. i use the headswitch on the joystick for view and have a couple of different view distances as well as a centre view mapped to the joystick buttons. i suggest you do the same, makes it a lot easier. setup wise i have the mouse in front of the joystick so i still have a somewhat easy access to it in case i needed to work the map.

hope this helps
