***************

HI EVERYONE

If you are a part of the crowd that believes that AC2 is too easy, I am proud to present a PC ONLY tool that might change your mind.

It was created by LinGon, a dear and valiant friend who kindly agreed to take this challenge upon himself to make AC2 more punishing.

Here is the readme from the tool:

**************************

Assassins Creed 2 - Special trainer version

Name: AC2 - Difficult Set

How to use:

F1 - Set Difficult level 1 - When enabled Player will die easier

F2 - Set Difficult level 2 - When enabled Player will die even easier

F3 - Set Difficult level 3 - When enabled Player will die after two hits

F4 - Extreme Enemies - Some enemies will become much harder to kill - Turn this off if the specific enemy get's to difficult to kill.

Numpad 1 - infinite Health - player will not die for those who fancy thathttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Released: 23 Mars 2010

Have fun and Enjoy!

~LinGon At The WOGH
*************************

Explanation on what the tool does -

F1 and F2 will make every time Ezio is hit (including fall and arrow damage) to have a more significant damage on him (twice or 3 times the damage).

F3 will empty ezios health completely on the first sword hit in combat, leaving him with 0 health, vulnerable to only one more strike.

Ezio's health will not regenerate from 0 to 1 as before.

F4 will prevent enemies from taking damage. the only way to kill them is by combo kills, deflect counters, counter kills (only the weaker ones), pushing them off ledges etc. Normal slices will do nothing.

Numpad 1 - Self explanatory.

I hope you will all enjoy this little, yet enjoying, creation as much as i do.

Again, I want to say thanks to LinGon who made this tool for us.
Thank you, mate. You are a good soul http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Can you ask your friend to make one more option - killing a civilian results in almost complete desynchronization.

Also, did you test this tool yourself? I thought this game is "unmodable" since it's said that majority of files are encrypted.

im sorry but i really dont think i will ask lingon for additional options. He made this tool out of kindness (and a need for a challenge) and i dont feel comfortable asking him for more work.

however i DID test this tool myself. heck, i dont play without it. it SO much better. the tool doesnt modify any files. it is like a trainer. works in parallel to the game affecting memory addresses.

i havent upgraded my armor much so i have about 11 diamond and with F3 ON i die in about 3 or 4 hits. forces me to run away from fights with more than 6 guards or so.

joy.

please, ubisoft, make a official update with this .. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Congratulation guys,I ve tested it, this tool rescues the game! It make Ezio much more vulnerable and therefore fights more challenging. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

thanks for that! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif
Finally somebody added difficulty and adrenaline to fights... it was way too easy (console childisch difficulty?).

Hopefully it will still work, after UBI updates AC2...
UBI - don't mess with that tool! please... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Almost a shame I don't have a PC capable of running the game, but have a PS3 which it plays great on. Of course, if I got it on PC, I'd have to deal with DRM which hates the lack of online infrastucture built into the entire country I live in. Not to mention, PC gaming with any online DRM will tip me over my current data limit (which will cost me an extra $40 a month I don't have)

im glad ppl liking it.
if u finished AC2 PC than it's a great way to play a second time with a different feel. since the tool doesnt touch the rediculous amounts of medicine u can buy, personally i remapped the "medicine" button to somethin unreachable so i wont ever use it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif makes things even more tense :P

p.s. ppl please dont mention the DRM in this thread. this is not the place.

Well made!
Love to see some modding in games like these, since it seems that in todays games modding is getting shunned by developers!

Keep it up! hope this stimulates more people to make awesome mods for AC2!

it's not a mod, actually. not by definition. mods change existing files or work within the game. this tool is external. it's a trainer just like any trainer but it works the opposite way http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif it doesnt change any game files but mearly finds the essociated function in the memory and alters it.

none the less - it's something that this game needs, it works and it makes the game better IMO. that's what's important http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

@adarwinter: I know your friend did this for our own enjoyment and I really respect that and I'm also really thankful for this tool. But I have one suggestion and I think it's a very good one.

I hope he can make no-detection mode. Meaning that every time you get detected (guards start chasing you, border line of the mini-map changes to red), you die - complete desynchronization.
If he makes this option, he's a hero and a savior of this game and its owners!

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif I wish there was a trainer that would disable desync when killing civilians.

Hi thanks for this mod it's very good. But i don't know why it makes the game a little laggy for me. And when i ctrl+alt+del is see the trainer use 26% of my CPU on the task manager. It really must use that much? It makes my game laggy. Anybody else meet this thing? How can i change it?

Atkamon
03-28-2010, 01:48 PM
Oooh, this is awesome!
Someone should make a trainer like this for some minor things people don't like about the game. For example there should be a trainer, that doesn't allow Ezio to fold his cape forwardshttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif He looks soo much better when it's on his back.

Heelflip
03-28-2010, 02:01 PM
I'm still cheering for no-detection mode!

I think it could be implemented and it would change the whole approach to missions. Game would become much more stealth oriented, which is what it's suppose to be. You're an assassin, not Rambo in renaissance.

once i can contact the author of this tool i will refer him to this thread. i highly doubt he will attend any of these requests since building a new function is not a simple feat and he has his own things to attend to so dont get your hopes too high.

now while the trainer doesnt make u "de-sync" if u r detected, playing with F3 on (2 hits and u r dead no matter what armor u r wearing) kinda forces u to avoid combat. it's pretty damn hard to fight more than 5 guys when all u can take is 2 hits before u die...
it's not exactly detection=death\de-sync but the way it forces u to play is a lot alike. it changes the game greatly.

p.s. - Atkamon, wtf? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif u peaky lil gamer

Would be nice to include one more option:

If you get the guards into the alert state for more than 2 seconds = game over baby. But, the exeption would be the time after you kill your target, and have to make a getaway.

It wont be possible though.

FiskMunk
03-29-2010, 06:47 AM
Great! It actually works http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
But could you write down all our requests on a list and forward them to your friend, mr Cowberry?

I don't care if he has got other, more important things to do http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif It's all about satisfying my needs.

adarwinter

making ezio de-sync once discovered seems like something nearly impossible to create, folks. there are many missions in the game that force ezio into fighting. every mission where he needs to be fighting (and there are a lot of these) will break the game.

i couldnt figure a way to do it even if i WAS a coder. logistically it doesnt seem possible. this is NOT a mod. this is an exterior tool. dont forget that.

but i will show the LinGon this thread. if he will think he can pull something out than all if well. if not, than not :\

Heelflip
03-29-2010, 04:09 PM
When you get to a mission where you're forced into being detected, you just turn the mode off, like you can do the with the rest of the modes.

About the coding... When you think about that the tool is actually modifying memory and not the actual values in a code itself, yeah, it seems impossible. I really hope he can pull it off though, but I won't be disappointed if he couldn't.
And yeah, you're right about the already existing modes, they do force you into playing more carefully. But it's still far from making the game stealthy since you can just run & hide.

... and the worse thing is that hiding as well is easier in AC2. there is the orange circle that means nothing at all and if u hide within it for 5 seconds u r gone, just the same as outside it.

and to add a sin, there is no requirement to be incognito after a mission success in order to actually complete it, like in AC1. once u kill your target 20 guards will jump at you and u can go have a coffee and get killed cuz the mission is already a success.

another downgrade in AC2.

only in sequence 13 i had to be incognito in order to not reply the mission again (the one with many mini assassinations in florence). that's made much more sense.

huh? where did u read that? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

p.s., i know u "just" started AC2. i'd recommend using the F1 function even in your first play through otherwise u might miss a lot of features that u wouldnt encounter if u never come close to death in AC2 (and u wont, if u play with the vanilla game design). only when u r in danger or in fear of combat then u will actually feel the need to hide, assassinate from hiding spots, run away from combat, blend, use money to create human roadblocks etc. i never did any of this things until memory 11, when i got this tool made.

it's a false alarm. as u can see, no one has mentioned a virus. some anti-virus softwares detect these kind of EXE files as viruses. especially trainers.

so just so u know - the file is perfectly safe, if u want to use it.

(i checked the file again and it's safe, as i said).

ty adar,

Please ask the original creator how hard it would be to increase the line of sight for the guards. I think the game play would be drastically better if guards on rooftops would harass you from several roofs away while you are notorious. Similarly while on the street they should be able to detect you much easier while notorious.

Thanks very much for posting this adar, and thanks to LinGon for making it. I just started a 3rd run through and have been doing only story mission and viewpoints to get all the feathers as fast as possible to wear the Auditore cape, which is the only other option to add difficulty. To make matters worse, Ubi didn't even have the forethought to have the cape carry over into new games started, so you have to retain your 2.save files and hope they show the unlock.

This is pure genius, and nice that it's easy to toggle selections. One question though, does the tool give an audible response when sections are made so you know what features have been turned on/off?

OK, see what you mean now, he changed it to a mandatory donation due to the costs he's incurring to keep such a thing going. When I click on the donation box though, I notice there's no set amount, so you could give any small amount. He could have probably just used a free hosting site at no cost, but IMO it's not a lot to ask for a tool that single handedly pretty much saves the otherwise limited replay value of the game.

Hello! I tried using this much-loved and much-needed trainer but was disappointed to find out that it keeps crashing me to desktop instantly the second I take damage (through falling or being hit)...

I thoroughly searched the internet to find a solution (to no avail http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif) other than trying different versions of the game (it crashes with version 1.01) while with the original (1.00) it worked (it didn't crash) but it didn't seem to actually make a difference or change anything difficulty-wise.

Please help! What am I doing wrong?

Also, what version was this trainer designed for?

Thanks in advance, and a great mod too! I've been waiting for this for months!

AelxProter

I havent actually tried this yet, but I don't know if making the guards stronger actually helps the replay value.

My issue is that the guards have no sight even when you are notorious. This doesn't feel like an assassination game if you aren't using all the hideouts to avoid detection. I dont feel like an assassin. They should see me from several rooftops away, they should see me kill their friend on a rooftop, or investigate their friend falling off a rooftop near a guard a few feet away.

I would pay for that improvement^
