Since I have been playing this game relentlessly for the last few months I am now going onto a new game for a break, "Call of Duty", a FPS WWII game that is about the best one I've played yet. Sorry. Just came out, I do recommend it.

But then again, If I get some new planes to fly with I may come back.

I've left IL2/FB about 10 times now. I never felt a need to tell anybody about it.

So you never play any other game? You've been playing IL2 for over two years and nothing else?

Same here. Right now I'm playing the LOMAC demo. Good stuff.

You should have Buzz. That's what the ppl in these boards care the most about.

Relevant and interesting threads float down the the second page while the "I'm leaving FB forever" threads attract 60 responses.

I like Call of Duty, it is a great game... but I find Hidden & Dangerous 2 so much immersive. The gameplay is awesome. I don't think I have to write a review, I've seen many posts about this game here and they all say it is good

I get the oddest impression that he might, perhapse, have possibly been trying to tell us that Call of Duty rocks, in some method that wouldn't be considered completely off topic for these forums.

Just maybe...

On a side note: Call of Duty rocks. I highly recomend it to anyone who enjoys FPSs. The action is good, the friendly AI actually works pretty well, and you don't run into those ridiculous situations where some guy takes ten rounds from a BAR and gets back up again.

I'm actually rather fond of the BAR. Slow auto is slow enough to be controllable, sort of, and its rounds have real stopping power. I also rather like the bolt action rifles. They don't have a high rate of fire, but they do serious damage and ussually have high acuracy.

I'm not very fond of the Russian weapons, however. The PPSh has a high rate of fire, and a very large magazine, but it is horribly inaccurate, and I still can't figure out how a real person would hold that thing comfortably.

The Mosin-Nagant is passable as a bolt-action rifle, but it's relatively inaccurate. For some reason, they modeled the nonsniper version with the turned down handle used only on the sniper version. The standard Vintovka Mosina had a straight handle on the bolt, that made operating the bolt considerably more difficult. The scoped Mosin-Nagant, however, is probably the best sniper weapon in the game, as it's the only one that can be loaded more than one round at a time.

Anyways, it is an excellent game, and the Russain campaign is a huge amount of fun.

Yes Buzz I'v played CFS-2(a lot) and CFS-3 for a few hours (this game sucks) and a lot of others.
Il-2 and FB are the best simmulators that I have seen so far !
No offense but my kid likes first person shooters and if he's (and any one else) having fun that's ok because I think that's what games are made for.
But in my case there's a diference:

I'm a aviation fan ! Kind of a sick one ! I just dont loose any air show available here .
Last year I drove 400 miles to see the first fly of the Spitfire whith my kid ,that is based here at Brazil(the only one in South America i think ),When the bird took of and made his first low pass I could not help the tears coming out of my eyes.I didnt sleep well for some days !!!....the sound ..!...the legend !! Man i will never forget that !!

So....some people just like aviation things and some others (Me) have AV Gas pumping thru their harts !
Any way...I love to fly this simmulator most of the time on-line and best of all I enjoy the friendship with cool people fron all places.

My kidd loves your sig ! He has a Radio control P-51 painted just like this one of yours.

Sory for my poor english ....

The Occasional break from combat can be good. I like to warm up FS-2004, get a nice WW-II plane [always a German one!] and just fly it around rather than fight with it.

Then after my break I like to go destroy something that

A) Belongs to the Allies
and
B) Is very important

Like Stalin's house or Pattons command center!
