It says here, Language and Tobacco??! + Violence.

OK. Violence yes, we get to blow things up even if there is no blood. What language is there in IL2 that warrants a ESRB rating though? And I sure don't see any tobacco available from the quartermaster.

Is there some patch which enables my pilot to smoke his cigar in-flight which you guys aren't telling me about!??! How do I enable profanity on the radio???

"What the hell? Stay with your leader!"

There's the profanity. Fly as a wingman and find out http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thats considered profanity by the ESRB eh? I get that all the time. Lousy yellow livered flight leaders!

So, where is the patch that enables my pilot to smoke?!!

Probably though it not ringing a bell something like "smoke em if you got em", or similar.

They/ubi simply having to respond openenly to the rating system and it costing them (as to rating) for any occurance.

There are some tobacco reference in the stock "46" static campaigns storylines (brieffings).

But, since nobody plays them... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You guys haven't tried the new static campaigns from the RRG addons I take it. Play the first few missions of Burning Streak and you'll see profanity and tobacco references in the briefings.

HA! The VVS46 campaign makes reference to VODKA! How dare Ubi not put in the alcohol warning label! The might lead to underage drinking and is a general bad influence to children.

I SHALL WRITE TO THE ESRB!!!!

The German voices swear all the time. Probably the same for the Russian and Japanese.

I find it disappointing that the English voices don't curse as well. If modern war footage is any indication, there should be at least 3 curse words for every 1 non-curse word. Given the period, there should be 5x as many racist remarks.

In the NZ and RAAF voices I sometimes hear "For Christ's sake mate..."

And the french voices swear all the time too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Flying a US A-20C last night. The rear gunner shouts "Holy Cr@p - direct hit!" in a gleeful voice. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

There's a fair bit of low-grade swearing in this game. I remember being quite shocked the first time I heard it - I nearly missed the ambulance I was strafing at the time. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

There is some light swearing in the the RAAF or RNZAF voice packs. When flying quick mission dogfights I normally use these two are I like the language and weird aussie terms they use.

Weird is the word. I'm Australian, and I can tell you now that "bloke" is not used in the second person.

The first time I heard "Good one, bloke!" I coughed vodka straight over the handful of cigarettes I was smoking.

Hahahaha.....never heard that.(I turned off the speech and subtitles years ago)

Incidentally my copy of 1946 came with a free Adriana Sage calendar so I can't grumble about the ESRB rating.

Tobacco - in the noseart perhaps?

http://people.bath.ac.uk/jsd23/smoking9oclock1.JPG

Is it weird that I read 'tabacco' as 'tabasco' when first reading the thread? Warning the DVD is laced with tabasco, do not put in eyes.

edit: keep forgetting to write http:// when writing URLs into [img] tags...
edit2: for the benefit of all you unfortunate non-British people: the M1 is the main road from the South to the North, the North Circular is half an urban ring-road around the top of London.
