I was planning on getting my X52 today but my city is blanketed with 9-14 inches of hard snow/ice.

I can't go to work and I can't play flight sims.

I knew I should have bought whiskey last night http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Snow Day(s) Log: Day Two.

Turbo-Diesel Beetles are not good on ice. They produce far too much torque. I put it in Drive and idle spins the wheels up to 5mph.

I've dug for several hours and have achieved nothing.

We have an inch of snow-dust (the really cold powdery type) on top of a layer of ice, which is on top of several inches of slushy snow. All of this is on top of 3-4 inches of hard ice.

The road looks completely passable, but I can not get to it because of the horrible roads within the apartment community.

My biggest concern now is IF the plows come back here they'll pile up several feet of ice in front of the car.

Still no whiskey.

Baldie, I live in Toronto Canada and we call in the army when it gets real bad (not lying). We had that same storm yesterday. Snow, rain freezing rain and then snow again and then real cold.

I do have whisky, Chivas Regal is great with ice!

BTW, I own a Toro snow blower. It would go through a pile of rocks if I let it. Well worth the $1200 I spent on it 7 years ago.

Bah! You guys are so lucky!
This entire winter, the only snow i've seen was either on TV, either the 0.5cm of snow since last night, when for the first time this winter it actually snowed http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif
It is very strange, usualy the winters here were quite snowy, but this year i don't think we'll se another snow in my city http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I got about an inch of snow here in Texas. That about fills our quota for the year. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Didn't mess the roads too much, so I got whiskey and beer. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

We actually had a bloody rainstorm here in Ottawa yesterday...could have sailed to work on some of the streets they were so flooded.

Well, it's just plummeted to 78F here in Miami Beach and I'm ratting around in the cupboard looking for sweaters. Current conditions give a wind chill of 77F. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I did my time in midnight Montreal...come in from a three day trip and the first problem is to identify under which pile of snow in the parking lot the car is hidden, then call the all night garage for a battery jump, then drive home at 3 am, shovel out the driveway, put the bloody car in the garage and call for medics to treat the impending heart attack. Oh, Miami Beach is perfectly swell, believe me. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Look at it this way -

I'm from PA but have lived in Louisiana for 16 years... I have a 15 year old and a 12 year old, neither one has ever seen snow. Got a teeny bit of sleet today, and possible flurries tonight... they've been talking about that more than Christmas http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Funny how in this part of Canada, where we get the snow every year, ppl STILL dont know how to drive in it. EWvery year, same thing, the first few snows, and ppl rack up thier vehicles.... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Merry Christmas everyone.

Ok it reall IS a white Christmas in Houston. It got below freezing and my truck has a thin layer of snow on it. We go out to look it over and my &#^#%! twin smacked me with a snowball. Considering I wrapped a gift in duct tape for him, I guess I had it coming.

Belive me, this happens in Norway every year too, and most people are of the opinion that we have 11 months of winter and 4 weeks with bad skiingconditions. The climate is not THAT bad in Norway, though. But every fall, when the first snow falls, all of the traffic just gridlocks, and the insuranscompanies have huge payments in sight....

Last night there where actually no snow here in the Oslo-area, but today we've had about 15cm (6 inches)

Been sleeting all day, but for about 15 minutes we got a pretty good downpour of snow. No biggie for me since I'm from the Northeast, but it was the first time my kids (15 and 12) have seen snow. Nice Christmas present http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

BaldieJr, you need one of the small Kubotas with a snowblower. That way after you get cleaned out, you can make some money with it for all those computer goodies you need. That's what I do up here in the far north of New York. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
