This is an attempt to display some photographs of various aircraft I have taken at the Goodwood Circuit Revival meetings held each September at Westhampnet airfield, Chichester, southern England.

The meetings are in fact a re-enactment of the heyday of motor racing, with cars from 1930s, 50s, 60s racing by and large for real. The cars are of the types Formula 1, saloon, indy and various others. Motorcycles, Norton, BSA, Gillera etc also race. It is a three day event where the staff and public alike are encouraged to 'turn back the clock' with period dress, vintage vehicles etc. Also, drivers such as Sir Stirling Moss, John Surtees, Dan Gurney, damon Hill, the late Barry Sheene, appear, or have appeared.

Some of the most exciting 'vintage' vehicles are the displays of WW2 aircraft, that do regular displays throughout the 3 days. These are most of my 'decent' pics, taken over a period of time. I am going again this year, so hope to get more pics, and with luck talk to a pilot or two!

If you like nostalgia, racing cars and vintage aircraft, you must go!

(If some one can ID the twin engined aircraft coming in to land, I would appreciate it! I think it is a Grumman, but I am really not sure).

The 109 is sadly no longer with us, having crashed on landing at an airshow in Spain, I believe. Also very sadly the pilot (Mark Hannah) succumbed to his injuries hours after the accident.

Well, I'm amazed, the links actually work! Only one duplicate! Enjoy, and perhaps the more observant of you can list the various models on display?

Yes, I believe it is, sounded almost identical to the Spit and Hurricane (merlin engine I suppose).

Thanks, Wayno7777, I've now looked it up and it looked like it could have been a potent aircraft, with good armament. Thanks again for the ID.
