I was watching at the videogames market and I realize that many new games are published in two ways: normal edition and the more expensive CE.

So I asked myself, if BoB will be published in that way how many here will buy this special edition?

Imagine a box with:

- DvD of the game
- DvD of the "making"
- Printed maps
- A book about BoB's history
- Planes specifications
- A 1/72 Spit and 1/72 Emil (exaggerating, perhaps one of them)

All this at the double of the normal prize (or more, depends from the expense).

Will you buy it?

EDIT: I posted this in Oleg's Ready Room because it's an idea... I ask the mods to move this thread if it's out for rules<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Depends on what it has extra. I would like a collectors edition as long as it does not have useless stuff in it that I will never look at again. It should have usefull things to it or something that is nice to have. I would like the little scale models. Only they would have to be cheap to make the collectors edtition afortable. And because SoW will be a quality product I don't want cheap replica's that downgrade SoW as a quality product.
What I would pay for is printed maps. Printed like they come right out of a museum. Like is done in the books "Victory in Europe Experience" and "The D-Day Experience from the Invasion to the Liberation of Paris" and I think there is one book about the coldwar aswell. In those books are do***ents that look and feel like the real thing. They scaned the originals and printed them as if real.

I think if SoW becomes a hit Maddox could set up a good running merchandise busness. Printed maps on silk and that sort of stuff.

All in all a pretty good idea.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I'd buy a Collectors Edition if it actually had a proper book (not PDF) like the original European Air War did.

It contained loads of tactics about air combat plus the manual, plus history. Now that would be worth having....but just an extras of making BoB, interviews with pilots etc...nah, not interested. Want something that makes the dvd special not just tacked on stuff.

Nice idea though.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I hope they will not do something like the DVD bonus of 1946, no talk all just basic no copyright music and useless pics and footages. what a waste.

Mysticpuma Your interview with Oleg was Much Much better than the Bonus DVD. I have to thank you for this .<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

For the collectors edition, I would like a section called 'gameplay' inclding extras such as historical accuracy, realistic flight, aircraft, damage, weapons modelling, missions, campaigns, etc.

BoB - SoW is going to be well detailed and heavy on CPU power, we know that, but what worries me slightly is that the preliminary bullet point features seem heavily focused on detail like weather, weather, clouds, weather, more weather, and even more weather, and then vehicles, vehicles, moving parts, suspension, wheels, etc.
In comparison, not a lot is being said about the actual raison d'etre of the sim, namely, the gameplay as per my loose definition above.

I agree about the gameplay: first of all BoB should be the best PC flight simulator. I believe in what 1C is doing http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

An example of special edition?

One of the Air Misitry Pilot Note's reprints would be nice. They are not very expensive, immersive, should even fit into a DVD box and can be indeed very useful in game.

Now that's a great idea Antoninus! The trouble is the cost to Oleg. The more expensive it is for him, the more expensive it is for us.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
