Seems this Corsair pilot had bad gas & went to light a cigarette...

The pesky Zeke was trailing at 170-150 meters when the resulting explosion blew his tail feathers off!

Finally a good use for beans...

Could the force of the explosion really tear the tail off another plane ?

I figure it's not tearing the tail off, it's tearing the front off the tail. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It has been documented, that Japanese who flew sorties in the South Pacific, who were exposed to 'gas expansive' foods of the region would sometimes blow the tails of their fragile zekes right off in the heat of battle.

Amazing, but true.

I like the always keep the danger in front of me rather than behind, but my name is really a reference to the US Inf unit my Dad served in during WWII.
