Hi guys http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif,

Right from the Revi gunsight, there's an instrument, but i don't know what it is for.
Does some of you know?

Another question is about Fuel and Oil pressure gauges. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif What are they for in real life, and do they work in Oleg's sim?

Waiting for your answer! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Yes, ANF-2 instrument for the FuG 16ZY.

The so called "Anzeigeger├┬Ąt AFN 2" was a radio navigation indicator (Anzeigeger├┬Ąt f├╝r Funknavigation AFN-2) which was used for instrument landings and radio DF flying.
This was part of a very advanced navigation by radio transponder program that gave, for some time, good advantage to german a/c over RAF in foul weather or at night (the Anton program, a net of beacons setup in France)

More info at the fantastic LuftArchiv.de site.
Go to mainpagr here
http://www.luftarchiv.de/
flag for agreement & click enter,
check at the left, there is a menu:
under FlugInstrumente (flight instruments) you will find a photo of ANF-2, and under Funkgerate (radio devices) you will find the FuG VIIa und FuG 16 section, scroll down and you will have a complete schematic of FuG 16Zy (standard VHF radio & navigational aid radio device 1943 onward) mounted on fighters like Bf109G4 & later K versions as had a bigger range then previous FuG VIIa, on FW 190 A4 & later design etc. (It mounted the typical "loop" antenna so common on mid to late war german fighters... an easy way to spot it...)
It was mounted on heavy fighters & bombers like JU88 too.. I suppose that there was a period in late 43 when it was practically standard device on LW a/c...
A site dedicated to german radios & radiodevices, this is the FuG 16Zy page
http://www.agder.net/la8ak/29b.htm

A very very complete site with many PDF about german wartime air navigation devices & radio technics is here
http://www.xs4all.nl/~aobauer/type-number_wizard.htm

And here a PDF about FuG16Zy (scroll down to "the Y programme")

Hi p1ngu666,
have a look at this nice page
http://www.agder.net/la8ak/29a.htm

it shows the standard LW IFF device, FuG 25a

This site is the most interesting I have found about german planes' radio devices...

Does anybody of you know how the compass worked in reality ? I mean it's like an ADF in game (the waypoints being the NDB).

How was it used in reaity ?
