Hi all,

Your Flight Commander gives you a choice (you have completed 10 bombing missions and are wondering if you will survive the tour).

He offers you a choice between flying an escorted B17 bombing daylight mission to Berlin in 1944 or an unescorted night mission to Berlin in a Lancaster.

What would you choose and why?

Easy. Lancaster.

because passive defence is IMO a step ahead of active, and night+7.7mm guns is IMO more effective than day+12.7mm.

i wouldn't want to be anywhere near Berlin in 1944....

I'll take the daylight raid in a P51 because we'll probably hit what we are bombing

Full moon? Cloud cover? This choice could be very context-specific.

I'll take the Ju-88 and wait for you. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif. Much safer then FW-190's job during day.

England to Europe 36 times from 42 onwards. didn't stop once.
