Hi!

I was snooping around with Google Earth, and took a look at Davis-Montahn AFB in Arizona, where all the planes are stored in the desert. I came across a bunch of planes that to me looks like F-80/T-33s.

Does anyone know if they are? There are very few F-80's flying today, and it would be cool if some of them could be returned to flying status..

Maybe the T-33's listed in this link:

There are a lot of older aircraft still stored at that site.

Thanks Berg, it seems like those planes are T-33's as there are a lot of them still there according to that list. No F-80s though.

I agree that they look like T-33s, but could they also be T-2 Buckeyes?

T-2 wing shape and tail shape is different. Tip tanks look different too.

There are both T-33s and T-2s stored at that site.

Thanks for the 3-view. Some in the upper row seem a little T-2ish to me. I wouldn't put it past them to park the two types near each other, just to bug us...

These appear to be some of the T-2 aircraft at the site:

T-33s abd T-2s were in service into the 1990's.
last T-33 was retired about the year 2001.

Unfortunately all will be scrapped
unless "sold" to a foreign friendly AF.
