Hi all,

The beta doesn't work on my computer. I have 4.8m running fine but the beta when installed would run on task manager and then exit by itself after a few seconds.

I dont have the sound mod here installed. So what do you think is happening here?

On HL there are people with the same experience as me. Does anybody have a clue?

No problems installing here. I backed up my files and unzipped the patch into my 1946 directory.
If you think you installed properly I would maybe suggest you double check the conf.ini file to see if the resolution you are using matches your desktop, I have seen that be an issue in the past.

Which operating system do you have?

A while ago when they improved hacking checks Windows2000 couldn't join online games if strict checking was used. I wonder if this has anything to do with that?

Do you have the patch AND skins installed?

Get 'em here (http://by.sturmovik.de/download/DLL.zip)

It's the DLLs they delivered with the Beta. These are previous versions of these files and work here.

Edited for a new host with more traffic than my tiny webspace ...

Im running on WinXP MCE 2005

I have the legit Il-2 1946 DVD install too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

First I tired only the beta patch and run the exe No GO. This was a from a copy of my original Il-2 foilder.

Then thinking hmm maybe i made a mistake on the copy so I patched the original il-2 folder and no GO.

Then maybe I had a bad download so I tried to get it three times from different places. NO GO

Then maybe its the skins so I downloaded those too and installed. NO GO

So im stuck http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

For me it was those CSThor's DLLs that fixed this. Thank you!

I am here to inform everyone that CsThor's DLL posting solved my probem. I did ask the beta patch to overwrite everything and it must not have done so. Thanks CsThor
