I just watched the "Weird Al" Yankovic movie called "UHF" and laughed my (expletive) off!

I know that this is an International forum, and that what we find funny here in the US is not so funny else where (and vice versa). But, I was wondering, what is your favorite performance/performer in a comedy movie or television show. Explain why so, if you wish.

I'm very partial to Stephen Stucker's rendition of Johnny (the crazy, gay air controler) in the movie Airplane from 1980.

"What can you make of this", then McCroskey hands him a piece of paper.

"Well, I can make a hat. I can make a pterodactyl, and a boat"

I still get a kick out of Steve Martin's performance in "The Jerk." My favourite scene was when the escaped mental patient was stalking him at the gas station with a sniper rifle. After a couple of misses that hit the stacked oil cans, Steve Martin throws himself back and forth in front of the stack: "He's after the oil!" Priceless!

I agree. Pretty much most of the orginal Saturday Night Live cast members put out great moves from the late 1970's though the late 1980's:

1. Fletch
2. National Lampoon's Vacation
3. Caddyshack and Caddyshack 2
4. Ghostbusters
5. The Three Amigos
6. Spies Like Us
7. Who's Harry Crumb
8. The Great Outdoors
9. The Jerk
10. The Man with Two Brains
11. Planes, Trains and Automobiles

the list goes on, and on http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I pretty much like parodies like Hot Shots. I also liked Police Academy etc. One of the comediens that stands out to me is Robin Williams. Death to Smoochy was great.

1. Fawlty Towers
2. Black Adder - In the Trenches
3. Monty Python
4. Louis de Funnes
5. Bourvill
6. Pierre Richard
7. Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy

I have surely forgoten some major names.

The best Robin Williams movie was "Good Morning Veitnam", IMO.

Monty Python's Flying Circus is shown on BBC America here in the States. I'll watch it whenever I can catch it on air. Great stuff! "Seach for the Holy Grail" and "The Life of Brian" is on top of my list of all time favorites! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

"You always got to look on the bright side of life" (Whistling) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I also enjoyed some of the members of that group in the movie "A Fish Called Wonda".

1. Ricky Gervais as David Brent in the BBC production 'The Office' cracks me up. I understand they made a US equivilent but I haven't seen that. The Office Website (http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice/characters/images/david_hips_800.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice/characters/profile_david.shtml&h=600&w=800&sz=78&tbnid=qYo-yOU1iXz4CM:&tbnh=107&tbnw=143&prev=/images%3Fq%3Ddavid%2Bbrent&start=1&sa=X&oi=images&ct=image&cd=1)

2. Peter Kay. Another British comedian who's stand up routines, based on simple every day life's observations and child hood memories, are brilliant IMO. He went on to make 'Phoenix Nights, about a drinking club in the North of England. Peter Kay's Website (http://www.peterkay.co.uk/)

Hey big nose and always look on the bright side of life. Love this movie. Also love Canadian Bacon where John Candy and company are in Quebec and wrote slang in english. Dan Aykroid as a Canadian Mountie pulls them over and makes them copy the slang in french as both are offical languages. Funny watching them try to figure out the french phrase.

Anything with Monty Python, including Fawlty Towers, most anything with John Candy, and...THE THREE STOOGES!!! I've seen all their short films and still laugh myself silly.
