Don't know about what is and isn't flyable, although I believe that the Italian planes (fighters at least) will be, but any BoB sim ought to have:

MY LIST OF FLYABLES
-------------------

ESSENTIAL:

Hawker Hurricane I
Supermarine Spitfire I & II

Dornier Do17Z
Messerschmitt Bf109E
Messerschmitt Bf110C
Heinkel He111H
Junkers Ju87B
Junkers Ju88A

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

Bristol Blenheim Fighter
Boulton Paul Defiant I
Hawker Hurricane IIA

Fiat BR20
Fiat CR42
Fiat G50

NICE TO HAVE:

Dornier Do215
Focke-Wulf Fw200
Heinkel He59
Heinkel He115
Junkers Ju52

AN ADDED BONUS:

Bristol Blenheim IV
DeHavilland Tiger Moth
Fairey Battle
Handley Page Hampden
Vickers Wellington

Dornier Do17P
Dornier Do18
Heinkel He111D
Messerschmitt Bf108

NOT REALLY WORTH BOTHERING WITH:

Gloster Gladiator
Fairey Fulmar
Grumman Martlet Mk I

NOT REQUIRED:

Any sort of Autogyro http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

When BoB was first announced Oleg said ten or twelve flyables, so we're probably not looking beyond the first two categories in my list.

Cheers!

That's about all the facts we have relating to flyables.

Cheers!

I only care for Bf-109E, Bf-110C and Ju-88A. Fits into 12 planes pretty well.

He-111 IMO can be left out of the flyables. As much as I like the looks of the plane, it is just way too vulnerable and slow to be a bomber. He-111 is a recreational plane. What they hell were they thinking converting a slow flying passenger craft to a bomber? :P Ju-88 is far more suitable for the medium bomber role. But if He-111 is included I won't be sad or anything. Rather He-111 than some ugly British plane... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Uber planes - yawn....

If you can fly a real deathtrap (Battle or Blenheim) in a online game - and return to base in one piece, surely that's more of an achivement than blasting away at dozen people with slow computers.

Talk about 'arcade' mode!

The He111 was not that a bad plane at all. Yep, it was slow, and had a pretty weak defensive armament.
Nevertheless it could carry a huge bombload for its size, more compareable with a heavy bomber, and deliver it quite precisely.

What about the weather conditions ?

I hope that the clouds will be more realistic that in Lock On and more like in FS2K4

The reason I said that it wasn't important is that the only Gladiators that could have been used in the Battle of Btitain were at Roborough guarding the Plymouth Dockyard, and never saw action. Thus not important in the grand scheme of things.
Same with the Martlet; they were based at Wick in Northern Scotland. Not much happening up there (plus Oleg's not going to map that far North), although I do think that they may have shot down a Ju88. Anyone?

Cheers!

First bombing raid with Stirlings was in February 1941. BoB was over by then.

Cheers!
