On my seventh mission out of St Nazaire, and was ordered up the west coast of Ireland. One tanker on the way, a small coastal steamer on the way back. The trouble started when I thought I'd divert my heading to take us just into the western approach to the English Channel to see if we could bag a few more. At periscope depth, I took a look around and saw a flotilla, a King George battleship surrounded by about six or seven destroyers of various types. Rather than leave them alone, I surfaced to send off a contact report, went under again an sent off a spread of four fish. I then went of at full speed at 30m depth for as long as I could. Five minutes later, the pinging started, the DC's atarted raining down. Another five minutes saw me at 90% hull damage. So kaluen Huey is now feeding the fish.
Be warned, do not take on more than you can handle if you are playing at 100% realism

Salute to the loss of a fellow 7th flotilla campainger!
You warning will ring thru
Although faced with a target like the King George,I would have had to go for it too.
Couple of questions though...
Did you go silent running?
When at the depth of 30m,what was depth under keel?
I have been lucky a few times when just under 5m from the bottom catching a thermal current and at ahead slow silent running.
But I haven't been up against more than 2 escorts left alive.

Ahead full until I heard the first very faint pings. Silent running till the damage started, then damage control kicked in. Depth under keel, 116m.
Problem being, three compartments flooding at once - very quickly - sent damage control to electric motor room so we could at least move if we had to, within a space of about 30 secs, they drowned, reassigned others to dc, toolate.
All happened too fast, and really not deep enough to escape the depth charging
