The funny part is that when this feature was first introduced, you could indeed fold your wings in-flight. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

It was later patched.

The funny part is that theres no patch for it in 1946. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Hmmm, I haven't tried it yet in 1946, but you are saying you can fold the wings in flight and they don't break off? Which planes? I seem to recall the last time I tried it, my wings broke off on a Seafire, but as my memory is a bit foggy, it could have been V4.04m of PF at the time.

Back when this was introduced in PF, the main plane it was used with was the Hellcat, which folds the wings along the sides of the plane. It was actually being used during online dogfights. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Oh, I knew that part, was just wondering which version of 1946 Buzz was playing and if maybe they missed one of the planes when they corrected the issue. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

they can be folded, and they do break (v.408) http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

IIRC, you can fold them only at extremely low speeds. Any faster, and they break off.

I'm not sure if this is still possible, but I once folded the wings at the apex of a zoom climb, and unfolded them again as I was falling, without damage.

buzzsaw,
To post pics you must have a web site to first put them, and then supply the correct URL pointing to them in your message here.

This is some semi-related rediculousness I did a long time ago. Hardy har har I can't believe I still had this track. I was doing a land-speed atempt in a Corsair. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif
