I just noticed this online.

I was flying on AFJ (Rare) and I was hit a bit during a dogfight. After winning the dogfight and making my way back to base, my aircraft ran out of fuel on final!!!! DRAG!!!

Always happens this way. Typically I just bail out and get 50% of my score, but I was too close to the ground and commited. So I was going to land, bail out, and collect my 50% instead of 10%. I forgot to bail out, hit refly, and the text said "Gibbage lands safley"! Im like "WTF" since in older versions, if your engine stops, it considers you as a kill and you only got 10% of your score! I got 100% of my score even with the dead engine!!! Whoot! Thanks!

Later on, im on another final, and a FW-190D9 land next to me. Be TOTALLY botched the landing, went for a tumble, lost almost everything but lived. When he hit refly, instead of giving that botched landing a credit to whoever shot him, is said "Player failed on approach"!!! Im not sure if it gave him full points.

Later on in a P-38 I forgot to drop my landing gear, made a belly landing, and chunked both props. No other damage. I got a landed safely!!!

I can see the negitive in this though. Being an Allied pilot, I got used to seeing the kill about 10 mins after I shot the Luftwaffe target since they always SOMEHOW make it back to base on a smoking engine that sounds like duying hampsters, and get the kill when they fail approach or the engine stops even though they land. Now we wont have this. At all. They land, they are safe. Great. Oleg found yet another way to screw us US pilots http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Thanks Oleg!!!!

Hmmm, I'm not so sure this is new.

I've often landed a crippled plane and gotten the "landed" or "is RTB" message and 100% points, BUT at the point of hitting Refly, my opponent gets the "Enemy aircraft destroyed" message.. and points for me.

This seems to be dependant on whether the game feels you did enough damage - hard to figure out how much you need to do to get over this threshold though.

Anyway, I'm sure it's been like this throughout 4.01 and AFAIK for 3.04 as well.

Yes, we've noticed this for quite a while now. Not new with 4.02.

Cheers!

It would seem that if you "land" on the runway and depending on how much of your crate is left you get a score.

I think it's also something to do with surviving and landing within the radius of the homebase that is set for the DF mission.

Maybe if Oleg didn't have to spend so much time correcting your crappy airplane models they would have more time to work on code. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
