Should be all done in a week or so.

Here's the readme file so far.

Version 1.43

Fixed radar and sonar bugs in the Type XXI. Fix by Cdr Gibs.

Fixed IXD2 torpedo loadout bug.

Balanced the starting crews to make the combat fatigue and qualifications systems more challenging.

Adjusted Realistic Plotting mod. Fix by Observer.

Enemy fog factor doubled. Fix suggested by CCIP.

Changed max height of free camera from 70 to 2000.

Added a new ASW mod. Mod by CCIP based on work done previously by gouldjg, Jungman, Jace11 and TimeTraveller. This includes Jungman's latest sonar fix.

Increased visual range in perfect weather: fix by CCIP. Also, corrected the wrong bearings on the radar: fix by Jungman.

Added new JU87, ME109 and FW200 skins. Mods by macstu23.

Re-introduced the older protractor mod. Mod by Jace11.

Raised weather condition cap on using U-boat guns.

Tweaked Hollywood DM to make it a little more balanced. Tweak by CCIP.

Rubini's Traffic Mod is updated.

All new water - still murky but more visible up close. Mod by Beery based on new info found by Manuel, and thanks to Timetraveller.

Here are some screenshots:

Sounds/looks excellent Beery.

That first image of the U-boat in the murky water looks very realistic. Just what I've been waiting for! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

Thanks for all your hard work! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Excelent! Thank you for you hard work!

Could you explain this bit further:

Increased visual range in perfect weather: fix by CCIP. Also, corrected the wrong bearings on the radar: fix by Jungman.

This was the only major annoying thing left in SH3 in my mind. Are we able to literally spot vessels further away as in graphically or does your deck officer just report em before you can actually see em?

A welcome change no matter which way it is done http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

btw. Anyway for you guys to shut up the deck officer? In 1.4b he keeps babbling about contacts untill your nerves are broken http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Your deck officer spots 'em. It's kinda like he sees smoke on the horizon.

No way of shutting him up yet, apart from maybe locking him in the nastier of the two toilets, LOL.

I have gleaned that "RUb" refers to a non-Ubi modification ("mod") called "Real U-boat".
- How does one obtain this "mod"?
- Are the "fixes" noted for the Type XXI in the RUb version solutions for the complaints about Type XXI bugs in the game as sold by Ubi and patched in 1.4b?
- Are their imcompatibilities between this "mod" and the marketed Ubi version + 1.4b patch?

Thanks.

All versions of RUb fix the game's fatigue system and the qualifications system, making it easier to use although a bit more challenging at first.

You can find the latest version at http://www.beerymod.com. Be warned though - it is a hardcore 'realism' mod, so it may not suit most players.

The fixes for the XXI are not available yet - they will come with the new version in a week or so. They are fixes for the XXI complaints - e.g. sonar, radar fixes.

RUb 1.4 series (1.40b, 1.41, 1.42 and 1.43) are built specifically for use with SH3 1.4b.

Beeryus. Just wanted to know if you would be offering some features of this mod as single seperate downloads such as the new water. I have tried RUb and find it far too difficult, but i would like to be able to use new features such as the water mentioned above.
Many Thanks
Lee

Make the fatique loadout more challenging? What, the crew burns out after 15 minutes on real time instead of the usual 30?

Yeah, that's right, if you haven't the first clue about how to manage your crew. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

What does "Enemy fog factor doubled. Fix suggested by CCIP." refer to? Not following you on what Enemy Fog Factor is...

Has the crash issues regarding the Crew & Damadge screen been fixed?

It's the restriction on th visual range of the enemy AI. In the standard game the enemy AI is far better at seeing your boat than your boat's AI crewmen are at seeing the enemy ships. This had to be balanced.

No. No one has any clue how to fix this. The best fix is to avoid using the crew transfer buttons.

Great! Any thought to the enemy AI later in the war (44-45) and it's ability to detect the sub from extreme distances even when you are submerged and running silent? I had a destroyer change course from 6000 meters when I was rigged silent and 40 meters deep. My detection bar turned instantly to red. I still don't know how he heard me. I realize that the escorts were far superior later in the war...but that is just ridiculous!

A lot of AI sensor issues are being worked on as an ongoing project. There have been some advances made in regard to sensors and survivability, but there's a lot of work still to be done.

Hmmm that is a weird one...

Just an edecuated guess shooting in the dark..

It is not a memory leak problem is it?
In the last patch it seamed to be ok for me, it dident crash on me ever with it when using the crew buttons. I could of just been very lucky but I have a feeling it is one of those things that are so simple that it is overlooked.
