View Full Version : Special .dll for 9800 Pro users?

I read this in the simhq review of PF: "Radeon 9800 Pro owners can get a dll to install in the PF directory (or IL-2 depending on install) which adds some of the water effects that NVIDIA players enjoy. It doesn’t look quite as good but is passable and enjoyable."

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Search on this board showed 0 hits for "9800 Pro".

TIA

I use the atioglxx.dll 2nd edition from the check-6 web site. File resides in the main FB folder.

I've tried several versions, 4.7, 4.10, 4.11 and 4.12. The check-6 2nd edition dll was superior.

An online translator, and a bit of tweaking gives this copy from check six-

"Users of ATI cards, is your water beautiful in perfect mode water=0...? The water of mode 1 good for you but you do not have enough FPS..?
the solution is here - some is your Catalyst drivers, install the atioglxx.dll contained in this zip in your repertory source of FBAEPPF or PF, and you will have a water worthy of this name, with good FPS. (setting mode to perfect and water to 0 imperative: veulliez to configure your config.ini as the FAQ of the forum Pacific fighters) Thanks you to Martin on SimHQ for this very good improvement! (the hunters of FPS are content, us revoilĂ with a water in conformity has AEP) to see an image of preview, to copy this URL ds your navigator: http://merlin555.free.fr/pf/atiglxx.dll.jpg
good flights"

Sounds good. The URL preview pic doesn't work though, can anyone post up a screenshot of this 'worthy' water? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Guys, you will get the same thing with 4.10, 4.11, 4.12 and 4.12b drivers installed and the proper settings. This is no more than the atiogl.dll they feel gives the nicest looking water.

If you do this, don't forget you have that .dll in your main fb directory then try to run newer drivers. It will always revert to the .dll that is in your main directory. This may cause problems with newer drivers.

Good luck!

using atioglxx.dll 2nd from C6 make the water looks a bit different more light but it's a big Hit in the FPS.. i would say don't use it.

The best so far for me is the 4.11 with 4.7 ogl.

RGR GOZR i tested both the 4.7 ogl& the one from c6 with cat 4.11 with fraps & the kamikaze track i can confirm the atioglxx.dll 2nd from C6 is slower.

Those pics above Chav posted seems like water 0 looks better then water 1.
I'm running water 2 right now, and haven't had had any fps loose that I can notice. But it did seem the water got smoother just like in the pics above. I don't mind smooth water in rl, but it's not as common as a chop. I just wish there were bigger waves in PF sometimes and not always so smooth.
