My old Samsung DVD/CD Burner Drive has stopped working as of today. The Dam thing has my IL2 1946 dvd in there and now it wont open.

Now i think its time for a replacement. Any good one you know out there. I want something that will read all formats and burn all formats of DVD/CD's.

The Busted one i have now would not read DVD-R's.

Please keep the price under $50 is you have any suggestions.

Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010100005+4025+1036506653+1036906731+1037213801 +1037608017+1037119981+1037507832+1038006800+12980 19801&name=Yes)

Don't know if you want IDE or SATA, but all these should be good. Cross check Tom's Hardware for the best one for you.

Zip Zoom Fly and New Egg have very good prices on dvd burners.

There should be a pinhole on the front of your dead drive.Unfold a paper clip and stick it in the hole to manually open the drive.

When my old cd drive broke I had to manually open it with a hammer.

look around for a small hole and if you find one insert a small piece of stiff wire and it might reset for you so you can get your disc back without any damage

Best of luck
Dag

Please excuse the redundant post, I just noticed that Troll2k has already made this suggestion
