They are manually operated on the F4F.

Assign a key to raise gear manually.

The press it, and keep pressing it till its fully raised.

Also assign a key to lower gear manually.

Have Fun!

Well actually its easier to land with gear than without...it only takes about 5 seconds to manually use the gear anyway

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gifYeah ,why bother ,after all they don't really make the undercarriage to use on real aircraft either http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

That kind of rudeness will not be tolerated here. If you don't want help then don't ask for it. This is your only warning.

Don't waste your time with 'it'.
With that attitude he probably will not last long anyway.

Hello Mr Birds of pray, IRL the PILOT had to TURN the HANDEL about 17 times to raise/lower the undercarriage. look down to you right and watch it turn!!!!

I have to say that's the funniest picture I've seen in a while (Although tbh, I think it would have been funnier without the punctuation marks and 'noobz')

I wonder if anyone has ever put a crank handle in a simpit just to emulate this ?

I presume thee original complaint is that the sim is to realistic and needs an option to arcade things up a bit http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Of course if you really wanted to you could write yourself a macro for your HOTAS to raise and lower your gear with a single keypress but why would you bother ?

Birds-of-Prey,
Why did you ask for help and then blast the person that gave you the answer? The game is what it is and you may not like certain features, but it is stupid to blast someone who does exactly what you asked them to do.

WTE_Galway,
I know someone who is building a cockpit and will put a crank in to simulate the F4F gear.

...the online one anyway if you don't want the help of anyone here.

That is the biggest bit of rude behavior I have seen in a long time Birds-of-Prey.
It took someone 2 MINUTES to answer your question, and you respond in such a manner as that. Simply shameful http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Seems to me that the guy was just trying to be funny with his retort. At least I took it that way. Can you guys ( including moderators ) lighten up a little bit?

I approve of the above post http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

takes about 40-50 clicks on a key to wind up the gear...how fast can one fingertype?

That's a rediculous idea, then who would we argue with? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

If that's the case, he could've done a heck of a lot better.

On the subject, you don't have to tap the key the whole time the gear is being retracted. If you push the button enough times the game will register it, even though it doesn't give you the 'Gear Up' message until it's finished.

I am glad you came back in here, BoP, and said what you did.
That goes a long way with many people here.
I have had to make a public apology or two on these forums.
For what it's worth, numerous people have asked the same thing about the landing gear.
