Lets have a signature extravaganza. One of the best qualities of this forum are the signatures. So much right-brained talent here (both comedic and artistic).

Post your signature and explain its meaning or creation. Mine of course, is at the bottom of my post. Here is it's history:

It is a drawing I started about three years ago. It was initially drawn as a composition about 9 inches high by 21 inches long. The Spitfire was about an inch from the left edge of the page. I began to draw a mortally wounded ME109 about 5 inches in front which was a mere seconds from crashing. The remaing front 12 inches was open to add to the drama. It was a long, thin drawing. I was going to title something like "8 seconds to Live" (or something similar) to imply the impending doom of the ME109. Below the two planes I drew some blurred landscape to indicate speed. So - the drawing sits on a shelf above my computer waiting to be finished for a few years. Squeaky, one of my cats decides he needs to be up there. Well, he knocks everything down, including the drawing. It gets torn at the right side. So, I finish the small part that is salvagable. I scan it and use Photoshop to add text and the insignias.

Many signatures here appear to have personal meaning by selection of aces, aircraft, squadron markings, and by process of design. I would enjoy reading about signatures if anyone cares to post.

I did do a search for a similar topic, but could not find one reagrding this topic.

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.</center>

I think Sigs are stupid/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I've been playing il-2 since it's release, but very rarely played online (56k/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif ). When FB was released the little town I live in got broadband so I started to play online. The result was a major shock to my prowess as a fighter pilot (I thought I was good) "WRONG" There is nothing like having a 14-16 year olds put you in your place. The Ctrl E keys on my keyboard are in a bad way, along with my pride. At this time I was think about a sig & it seemed all to obvious. So my sig was born.
I have improved somewhat?/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif but still have days when the only thing I can hit is the ground/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
Thanks to all the young pilots out there who made me give up my social life just to get my pride back/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif
Especially AHS-Viper who shot me down more times than my ex girlfreind (and I don't mean she was a good pilot/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif )

My handle comes from the fact that I've been called mad for over 20+ years and I did some artwork for a punk rock fanzine and the editor new my obsession for WW2 and called me madsarmy productions and it stuck.

That's all I have to say about that(gump style)/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Based on the principle that impact lessens with repetition,I don't do signatures.

Nb: This principle does not extend to a 190 Boom and Zoom attack.
