Ok, something puzzles me.

Sure, i've seen a creature that looks like that in the distance.

And I've also seen a brontosaurus type thing. Something with a large body and long neck. The neck looks as if it bends down into the water to get some food and then raises again.

I heard rumers of two shroomies.

But are they both shroomies?

And I can get a closer pic of shroomie. Anybody can!! There are sketches of her all over the place... hehe!

Two possible explanations:

1) There is another shroomie - If you look at the drawings in Douglas Sharper's room in Teledahn, you see a few different variances on the 'shroomie' lifeform. It is also possible that these drawings depict 2 totally different species of animals.

2)That wasn't a head moving, but maybe it was more like eye stems or even more probable - some kind of breathing tube coming to the surface to retrieve air.

I'm getting mad at Shroomie.

Everytime I link to Teledahn to check on her, she is never there. So, I walk quietly to the feeding machine hoping she'll appear. Well, when I get there, I see no sign of her. I wait a moment, just in case. So, I decide, ok, I'll feed her and check back later. AS SOON as I click the level to use the machine, I hear the familiar cry of Shroomie. I then swear frantically because the lever has been pulled and the noise will scare her off.

Augh.

Try as I may, I can't seem to even entice Shroomie to show herself even on the horizon so I can take a pic, no matter how many times I return or how quietly I bee-bop around. What's the secret? Frequent feedings? Kandy Korn strewn upon the waters? Make a sound like a bull shroomie in love? What?

Bistro: There is no secret, execpt that I was madpulling the lever to the feedermachine. When I heard the "whalenoice" I ran quickly and not quiet to the gun that was already in position. And to my big luck! Shroomie was right in the crosshair and I didn't needed to rearange anything. I just took the shot! In short terms. Feed her like hell, have the gun in position with full zoom and then run up to it and hold your thumbs that shroomie has chosen to be in your crosshair. Good Luck! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

First you need to reduce the image to a palatable size for this forum--600x500 or thereabouts---then save it onto a "web hotel" or online photo storage site like Boomspeed. Then bring the image up there, copy its url and paste (or type) the url in your Reply box here, using the IMG tags as such:

place the image's url here with no spaces

i have 2 pics of shroomie taken in 1600x1200 resolution (only the shroomie part cut out for smaller file size) through the fully-zoomed-in gun scope, one with his antennae eyes up and one normal. both pics are taken when shroomie is at his closest point, so basically they are both the best views we can currently get of him. if anyone wants to see them i need a place to send them to for hosting since i do not have webspace of any type.

Linked back to teldahn to go Shroomie PIC Hunting and as I was walking down the first set of stairs I heard Shroomie bellow. First time that has happened---usually have to go to the feeder first! I ran down, got her in the sights, but two things got me: First, in my excitement, I didn't zoom in and second, my screen capture program wasn't on....aiyyyyeeee! Use the printscreen key, but it just doesn't get the detail needed. Shots came out very pixelated.

Wow. Bistro, you're like... a professional Shroomie hunter. Ever since I got stuck in Kadish, I've been spending my time either trying to reset the mechanisms or staring at the floor in the liney room. *whee* Shroomie's been getting second fiddle for a while.

But I have a feeling, as soon as I win this thrice-bedarnéd well-belovéd game, I'll be pulling feeder handles and running.

I'll probably look a little like a die-hard gambling addict in Las Vegas, running from bandit to bandit in search of that elusive cache. You know, there *is* a parallel there....

There's some really nice ones here, and unfotunately I don't have the time right now to spend trying to snap a photo of her myself.

Has anyone tried using the gun to kill a flapper? The Baron's notes indicate that shroomie eats flappers. There is a flapper that seems to pass by the ocean side "feeder" on a regular interval. I've tried, but I just can't seem to time the shot right.

the flying things ar "buggaros" (i think) the flappers are those round things that sit on the swamp water and periodically launch up into the air therefore you couldn't shoot a flapper

OK! Seekers of the Loch Ness Shroomie of URU. After many attempts at trying to capture a good pic of this cleverly elusive beast. A constant battle of 'pull lever, pull lever, run up stairs, look in scope, %@#&@&%!!!, run back down stairs, pull lever, pull lever...' I finally succeeded. Lookie...Shroomie!

Wow! That's incredible. I have yet to be able to make it up to the telescope in time to catch a close up view.... I have bad coordination skills. Heh.
This is actually one part of the game I really enjoy, and it reminds me of the older Myst games - like the Sunners and the Whark in Riven. Or the little girl who runs through the forest. I just wish there were more of these kinds of treats.

On Douglas Sharper's workbench, is that a model of Shroomie, or a taxidermied baby Shroomie? Probably a model, eh?

Oh oh. I seem to be developing a Shroomie obsession!
I was wondering if he/she will ever come any closer. It seems like he/she should now that the gate is open and there is the other feeder over by the gangplank. Will Shroomie ever become so accustomed to my presence that he/she will come and eat at the other feeder?
I have spotted him/her from another location - while I was standing over on the gate lever platform he/she appeared. Has anybody had any new Shroomie experiences?

I've been hunting (with a camera) shroomies for quite some time now. I love it when you see two swimming together. Anyway, here's the closest encounter I've ever had: she was swimming along the horizon, then turned and swam straight towards me until she got up quite close. Then she dove and was gone. I have not, as yet, found anyone who has gotten any closer.
Here is the closest picture I've ever gotten:

Oh... so that IS two swimming together! I thought there was something wrong with my monitor and that I was getting a double image. It looked like Shroomie had two heads. Haha. Cute. Shroomie couples.

If you stand on the Southern observation deck (I don't know what else to call it - but I'm talking about that mesa that you can link to from Sharper's office), I swear you can hear a whole bunch of Shroomies conversing. Some of the sounds are like the one he/she makes when it visits the North bay; and then there are other barking sounds which are reminiscent of a large seal. I think it is a Shroomie pod.
