View Full Version : Why don't we have the choice to make our own Polls in this Forum?

In some other forums is doable, why not here?

UBI forum engine does not support such a feature.Only community manager can set up polls. But if you ask about a thread that can be turned on in a poll , well , this is not possible at UBI. Do you think that UBI give any flyin' snack about the community formed around games they promote? If you think so then you are all wrong. Instead of maintenance of these forums , maybe a migration to another engine was a better idea. Bottom line , don't ask anything from UBI because if you do , there are only 2 options:
1)either they'll laugh at you (in case they not ignore it)
2)you get banned
Simply.

On what do you base the above statement, Zayets???

Read this, posted 07/18/03:
<h5>"Ubi Soft communities are very important to us, and we apologize for the recent lack of info on our part. We are very busy with the FB patch and with Lock On: Modern Air Combat.

We appreciate your continued patience and support, and will do our best to make sure you guys have the latest info and updates as to our status.

Sincerely,

Marc Fish
Associate Producer
Ubi Soft Entertainment"</h5>

You want the patch and Lock-On or you want 5 UBI employees nursing you in here?

WOW! Didn't knew UBI develops those two games! FYI Ven , was not a question of nursing anyone but my statements were refering another point . Read my post , carefully this time. I was speaking about the SUPPORT they give to this community , to make their life nice aand easy here , on these very forums.what's wrong with creating polls? What's wrong with having custom sigs and avatars? What's wrong with a 100% reliable engine forum. Or a very fast one? That's what I've meant.Anyway , leave it like you've just said. I don't remember myself to whine over certain features in the game.I do remember that I whined alot about the forum engine , maintenance and so on. Satisfied?

This UBI forum engine is old, let's face it.

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye
shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be
measured to you again.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Ubi technical staff are investigating ways to improve performance of the forums. When their research is complete, the results will be implemented. I can wait, can you?

Of course! Here's this one for you : medical and psychological staff investigate ways to improve my patience when it comes about various stuffs. When their research will be complete , they will come up with the results , as is well known that you can't implement results. Meanwhile I'm advised to wait. And that's what I'm doing now.

I'm back! Some quick, but extensive, research on the web has convinced me, that there are in fact very, very many sites about making Poles.

I re-read your post (carefully /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif ). Not sure what u feel I misread.

- What's wrong with creating polls?

Nothing. Current software does not allow for users to do it though. But u can easily put "POLL:" in your title like many imaginative peps already did.

- What's wrong with having custom sigs and avatars?

Nothing. I wasn't aware of it not being possible today.
Scripted sigs and avatars are another ballgame. They have been prohibited due to the risk of malicious code which could be used to hack into your computer. For your safety!

- What's wrong with a 100% reliable engine forum. Or a very fast one?

Again, nothing. Lithium is a very good BB software but we have all experienced some operational disturbances from time to time. You will be pleased to know that UBI are aware of this and are working hard on making the forums run fast and reliable.

- Satisfied?
Maybe tonite. Keep your fingers crossed. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Exactly what I have said.Unsuported by the software.

I thought(see below your review of "Lithium") this is a good BB software. All the scripts were used because of the lack of options , for every user! One wanted a blue background , other one wanted another avatar (mind you , not ones available by default).

But I'm already pleased! The only thing is that instead of looking for improvments and how to avoid the bad things , rules are enforced. If this you call working on it , then I give up!

-- Satisfied?
- Maybe tonite. Keep your fingers crossed.

Now I know what are ya doing with that rubber duck!/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Let's close this conversation , brings back old issues and I don't think is worthed the effort.Just trust me.
