I have nvidia card and latest drivers from their site. I cannot change my landscape detail to perfect, because it is greyed out. I have changed water to 4 but i dont get new water effects at all. After i exit the game, my setting for water return to 1. Does somebody know how to fix this?

Just a hunch: make sure your config.ini is not set to the attribute "Read Only," and for the landscape, make sure to use Open GL in the Hardware section of the prefs, and hopefully that will fix it. ALso run the item in the UbiSOft folder named setup. If you had already done those things then I'd see if it were an nVidia issue. Otherwise I'm stumped.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

In addition to what Triad773 said:
- Make sure you run the game in a x32 bit video resolution. (as opposed to a x16 one)
- Make sure 'Use Stencil Buffer' in IL2Setup is switched on.

Good Luck!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Even more obvious--make sure you are in OpenGL mode. DirectX mode will grey out the Perfect option just as you described.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Also, make sure V-sync is on in your IL2setup.exe<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
