When leading a formation of medium(he-111) bombers to bomb a factory area with only a Gattack icon waypoint with nothing set as a target, I cannot get my formation to drop with me! Perhaps I am missing something.I have called over the radio with attack my target, attack etc,etc but they will not drop and say they cannot comply. Can you develop a new command drop bombs with me or something. When I am not the leader everyone drops on cue. Thank you for your time.

Known bug. One method of getting them to drop is just as your bomber drops hit the Autopilot. Somehow your autopilot knows how to send the signal to the rest of the aircraft in your flight to drop.

I guess autopilot makes your plane, for all practical purposes, AI plane. So it will work just as AI bombers usually work. But, besides being a very clumsy workaround, it also doesn't work online. Funny considering it was primarily a ground attack sim.

Another conected problem is that AI only "sees" for 3km. Meaning if you have above 3000 meters altitude, they'll never see the target even if they aren't levelbombers, but Stukas or something else. You need to be below 3k to make a succesful order to attack ground.

AI bombers are screwed since the last lot of patches from v4.xx methinks.

Fly the waypoints and they will release, in He-111, Ju-88, B-25 is easy because you have radiocompass. Or you can order them to move to the next waypoint and they will take over your commanding status IE fly on their own.

Those are the solution for flying online with AI.

Nope nope and nope.......

Been trying for over 300 missions to get AI bombers to respond too... next waypoint...return to base...target all....attack my target.....etc etc etc nothing works online.

Stukas do attack AAA or vehicles if you get them right on top of the target bf110's Ju88's and He111 are just dumb at being AI.

post tracks & email the bug reporting address; this sounds like a serious problem. Maybe it'll be fixed in a subsequent patch. I certainly hope so!

Did you test the command "next waypoint" and the AI didn't move a muscle?

Did you fly the waypoints and when you reached the target the ai didnt release with you?

A simple way to fix this is add a radio command like "Drop Ordenance", it should be posible because we already have one to drop fuel tanks.

it is historic, MANY raids where done like this (but often with radio silence, just drop bombs with leader..
