Remember the sanctuary and how there are 6 other assassin statues other than Altair`s.? Who are they? Are they important to the story at all, or in history? I always wondered this but never found much information about them in the game, did Ubisoft ever explain who the other assassins are or is it just suppose to be unknown?

In ac2 they have lil stories you can read when you walk up to the statues.

Darius was a member of the Persian Assassins' Guild. As Xerxes I of Persia had conquered most of the Middle East and was threatening the peace, Darius was tasked with performing his assassination. In 465 BC, Darius was given a Hidden Blade to kill Xerxes, which he succesfully did, making it the first assassination with the Hidden Blade.


Iltani was a member of the Babylonian Assassin's guild. During her lifetime, Alexander the Great conquered most of southeast Asia by using a Piece of Eden, the Staff. Some time prior to 10 or 11 June 323 BC, Iltani had poisoned Alexander the Great, who died as a result on 10 or 11 June 323 BC.


Wei Yu was a member of the Chinese Assassins guild during the Qin Dynasty, which was ruled by Emperor Qin Shi Huang, a tyrant who opressed the people of China. In order to protect the people, the land had to be freed of the Emperor. On September 10, 210 BC, during one of the Emperor's Eastern China tours, Wei Yu supposedly struck the Emperor with his spear, thus killing him. His death, however, was blamed on the mercury pills that the Emperor took, which would supposedly make him immortal.

Qulan Gal was a member of the Mongolian Assassin's guild. During his lifetime, Genghis Khan was conquering most of the Asian continent and was in possession of a Piece of Eden, the Sword. In 1227, after Genghis Khan defeated the Tangut people, Qulan Gal shot Genghis Khan's horse with a bow, causing him to fall off and succumb to his injuries, for which Qulan Gal was hailed as a Master Assassin.

Amunet was a member of the Egyptian Assassin's guild. On 12 August 30 BCE, Amunet infiltrated Cleopatra VII's palace. There, she killed Cleopatra using a venomous asp.


Leonius was a member of the Italian Assassin's Guild. The Emperor of the Roman Empire, Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, commonly referred to as Caligula, was a tyrant and the land had to be freed of him. On 24 January, 41 A.D. Leonius stabbed Caligula, killing him.
