Nope it was a low flypast in Cyprus across the Apron............. I can remember some memorable ones, the Pilot on his last landing at Colt that put it down on the taxiway to meet a police landrover coming out between the hangars, he had enough energy left to hop over it........ruined the plods day and his underwear.. Oh and the one over Lossie in Scotland that drew a big u know what with a pair of circlular objects under it that with his contrail, that hung over the towns Lossiemouth and Grangemouth for some 45 minutes in a clear blue sky before the cold got to it and it shrank away to nothing http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I lived in Oman from 76-83 when I was a kid. Once of my best memories was a trip on an Omani gunboat up to the Musandam Peninsula. I got to fire every weapon on the thing with the exception of the two Exocets on the back. Freakin' awesome. On a Huey trip back from Nizwa the pilot, ex-UK Army, flew at zero feet up a road scaring the **** out of truck drivers and other road users. I was in the the other seat, I was twelve. I don't suppose you'd get away with that nowadays. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

We used to fly Nap of the Earth in helicopters which included going under powerlines and between trees................ sitting on the back of the ramp, feet dangling over the back of a Chinook mast hopping down lake Windermere was one unforgettable....... another was going home in a Puma and landing in a field near my home Village.. It picked me up Monday PM and as we were climbing out I pointed out where my mum worked in some buildings on the edge of a disused demolished Army base... I sat in the doorway with my legs hanging out waving as we did an ultra low beat up of it waving at my Mum and everyone as they bailed out to see the show http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif She was proud of me that day http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif But the thing that made is was the Pilots face Sqdn Leader Donaldson, as we climbed away he looked over and asked what the place was... His face dropped when I pointed out it was the Local headquarters of the Northern Police Motorway patrol.............. No hassle though, they were megga impressed and were talking about it for weeks to come..............

Fooking marvelous. Still going on then. I didn't want to say because I thought people'd think I was bull ****ting, but the Huey pilot flew us under telephone cables too! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
