I got my copy of Il2 Sturmovik 1946 today! But...

as seen on this image/blue print, the HGII is proposed with the HS 011 A engine and not the jumo 004B as stated in the in-game-description:

http://www.phys.au.dk/~toest/me262hg.gif

http://www.phys.au.dk/~toest/descripHGII.jpg

but these screenshots suggests that the HGII infact cosmetic is equiped with the HS 011 A, but this is NOT simulated as the HS 011 A(Ta-183) in-game can throttle to 110% power and the jumo 004B(Me-262A-1a) in-game only 100%, the HGII can throttle to 100% thereby suggesting the simulation of the jumo 004B.
Can someone confirm(with source plz) that the HGII was planed to used jumo 004B or HS 011 A?

and finally a bit OT, some of the new cool tanks in Il2 1946: PantherII, Maus and the Coelian:

Good catch. Now tell them so they can throw that into the first patch. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif

Slap (addicted il2 player) on SimHq Forums:
I built up enough courage to go out to the local shop this morning and on my way I saw a squadron of FW 190's flying low and fast; my immediate reaction was to rugby tackle an old lady who was close by as I shouted "BANDITS! INCOMING! 1 O'CLOCK LOW!"...How was I to know they were pigeons?! They had the sun to there backs!

Critical bug for hypothetical planes. Definitely a reason not to buy 1946.

I know that it's not that important...but for perfection...I've been waiting for the HGII, it's so beautiful and fast http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif

There's another: Do-335V-13 without MW-50 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Would make it have 2x 2260hp instead of 2x1750hp.

That one at least existed, so it's a real error http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

I see your point, mayby it can be fixed?
I like the screen shots "We were examining the engines on the non-existant plane and then a Maus tank casualy drove over the runway"

maybe another bug with the Ta-183; it's way to
slow:

it should have a top speed @ 7000m : 955km/h as stated in the description:

but I have trouble holding 800km/h...(this is of course WITHOUT the 4xX4 missiles, but with 50% fuel).

I only tested the MiG-9 and He-162C and their top speed at the respective altitudes and they both agree with the ones in the description.

anyone else who can confirm this?

This was very common sight in 1946 Berlin after the Maus was mass produced and introduced as the new standard medium tank http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

A copy of my mail to Oleg and the response:

In both is HS

However couple of German planes need small ajustment. We did it just theoretically and their performance using modern formulas doesn't corresponds to what was projected by Tank and Meserschmitt.
I don't know if we will chanche it, but how to explain users that Ta-183 is simply bad plane.... don't know becasue to write 10 pages is not for me..

Subject: 3 bugs in 4.07

Hello team behind the best flight simulation ever!

I and one other have found some bugs wich are described in detail with
pictures in this thread:

http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/26310365/m/3431054115

but for short:

Me-262HGII: has the wrong engine: it should have to more powerfull HS 011
A engine and not the jumo 004B(simulated via the throttle to 100% and not
110% as the other planes with the HS 011 A engines), the in-game
3D-model of the plane is almost correct: but the end-tip of the engine
stretches further out behind the engine housing (see the attached image
Heinkel-Hirth_HE_S_011_USAF.jpg and me262hg.gif).

Ta-183: the engine overheats more rapidly than the other planes with the
same engine and it is not possible to get the plane to fly at the max
speed indicated in the in-game description (955km/h). I tested it to
fly only 800km/h as it absolute max speed(without x-4 missiles). The
engine seems to weak and take off is very difficult and slow.

Do-335V-13: Should have the MW-50, would make it have 2x 2260hp instead of
2x1750hp.

Yours, Thomas O., Denmark.

- from what I understand the HGII IS simulated with the HS 011 A engine...that's nice! and the Ta-183 is just a bad plane http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

From 406 readme

Ta-183

A captured model of the Ta-183 was tested in the TsAGI wind tunnel post war, and immediately uncovered a fatal mistake in the design. Flutter and subsequent structural failure of the tail unit began at only 700 km/h. Therefore we?ve had to artificially strengthen the tail unit by a great amount, in order to allow for the design to reach specified speeds while still keeping the famous original shape.
In reality such a redesign would have been near impossible, and most likely the tail unit would have been radically redesigned instead (such as was the case with the historical Pulqui II fighter built by Kurt Tank after the war).
In general, the plane is modeled with several concessions that were possible to make only using the knowledge gained post the 1950s.

and

Askania EZ42 gyroscopic gunsight

Ta-183, Ta-152C, and potentially some other Luft?46 planes modeled in our sim were projected to use the EZ42 gyro sight, similar to the K-14 ?ace-maker? used in late-war American planes.
However no detailed information about the features of the EZ42 exist, and we were forced to ?install? regular sights on these planes. Even in the cockpits with 3D models visually based on the EZ42 design, they function as simple reflector sights.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
