If the weapons damage in this sim were modeled accurately there would be so much whining it would make the FW 190 gunsight issue look like a non-event.

How very scientific.

even minor damage to a wing in the right spot will cause it to break apart, even if that wing went into a dive. I have gone into a dive in 109 with damaged wing and pulled back HARD and nothing

So now we have visual proof that a 20mm HE round will destroy a section of aluminum skin wrapped around 2 wooden forms and held together with duct tape.

Exactly. Proves nothing. If you want something useful look at tests with a more scientific approach.

The aluminum was architechtural grade. The holes in it were cleaner than what you would get in 2000 or 7000 (not common in WW2) series. The iron was cast grey. Beyond this it would be nice to have a more meaningful "test". http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

even 1 of the 50 cal's would be able to blow a 190's wing off if they tagged the fw's ammunition bay. with all that he 20mm's...owww, that's gonna leave a mark. if that would have been modeled, the fw fans would really be screamin, but then again, their 20mm guns would be feared even more..much less the 30mm. but i'd think the 20mm would have more of a preference if the extreme recoil of the 30mm was modeled to rl specs; but that would be pretty hard to do.
it would even it out tho; figure: ammunition cook-off's from hostile fire, and their 20mm's just as devastating as it was back in the day. think every1 in the fw's/109's wouldnt do much lone-wolfing then.

And also leaning against a much heavier object to ensure detonation and focus blast back into the "wing" section.
