I am running 4.10.1 and have a weird problem....(happened with 4.10 too)
I used to have some British chatter as music track when flying but I cannot stop it.
I deleted the wav files from the Music folder...and when i press Escape and go to turn off the music switch nothing happens...so i am plagued by this repeating itself....
Since with 4.10 there is no way to deactivate the MDS I wonder if that is responsible...

Running 4.10.1 with music OFF just fine. I did not delete any music files, just set music off.

music switched on or off...no difference...maybe hard-wired into the sfs files??

I have a clean unmodded copy patched to 4.10.1 and no music since I turned it off. And I didn't delete any files though due to my old PC I had to overwrite the mg_snd*.dll's with 4.07 versions, both are less than 400k. Hard to discuss when I dunno what you have to say anything about!

DOes completely removing the msuic volume (set 0) work? does temving the master volume cuts volume in game?

this could be a total FUBAR on il2 sound department, if its, maybe a full reinstall is the easy way.

I had the same problem some time ago. After some time I found out that for some unknown reason there was another Il-2 saved here:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Progr am Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\

After that I checked:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Progr am Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\samples\Music\inflight

And there was the same sound file I placed in original Il-2 folder. I deleted it and there was no more inflight music that couldn't be stopped.

Does that sound confusing?
