Can't help but think there's less and less information from the developers these days. In the past there were more updates and pics than you should shake a stick at!

Even some ball-park figures on when and what's coming next would be good.

I know ol' Oleg is a busy chap himself, but there must be someone at IC, even if it's just the temp, or the work experience guy, who can stick up a few posts about what's cooking.....

Information Famine!

I heard crazyivan, Bearcat, and the other mods are organizing a 2005 "Do They Know It's Patchtime ?" sing along to benefit the information famine victims. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif/////Isn't it obvious?...you (we) have no need to know!....only to pay the bills.

I pointed this out before and was told in no uncertain terms that the regular update tradition was stopped because so many in these parts acted like petulant teenagers, the developers became discouraged.... and so...the practice was halted.

Who knows?...could be true....probably is.

That's too bad... it seems the vocal, whiny minority wins again. Needle and hassle the developer until all the fun it taken out of it and they're no longer interested in keeping us informed.

I'm sure most in the community has been appreciative of Oleg and 1C's support over the years... unfortunately it seems to be human nature that we focus more on the negative than the positive.

Hope to hear from you soon 1C but, if not, thanks for a great sim.

Regards, Goshikisen.

p.s. - is it just me or am I seeing more new members in this forum than I usually do? If that's the case it is somewhat unfortunate that the developer has chosen to remain silent.

Two weeks eh? Well, that 'ain't so bad. People are right though, it is a shame when people have to turn things into a moronathon.

I'm guessing if IC put a halt to all news updates they must have been some getting pretty nasty posting off the back of it.

Hmm, you have to wonder about some people's sanity if they feel the need to be abusive towards someone who they don't really know from Adam!

Medvedya:

"Two Weeks" is a community injoke that means "from between now and doomsday". Its what we like to refer to as an Olegism.

Fact is that no-one on these forums knows when the patch is coming out. If they do they arn't going to tell either.

From all indications the next free download will be quite large with several cockpits for existing planes and maybe some new ones.

Things I have seen listed repeatedly, by some reasonably reputable sources inclued the BEtty, Ki-100, CW-21 and others.

Leadspitter, let me correct you: the standard procedure is two weeks for the UBI announcement of the announcement, then the announcement itself (add 2 weeks), then finally the patch (+2 weeks). http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Badsight.

man its not even a joke anymore , its so old & lame to see people constantly using it still , that expression was used for one patch only , before AEP

& if i had to read this board & see all the rubbishing of my work all the time , id just stop

if your wondering why its not like the good ole days when we had loads of development posts here week by week , stop wondering

Badsight and the others above are right.

If I had taken the flak the developers have on these boards, I wouldn't show up here much either. I suspect that wasn't what they had in mind when they decided to get interactive with their customer base.

I guess we'll just have to get our news from the mass media like other groups of consumers. Maybe there'll be a PF update on Sixty Minutes this weekend.

Why does posting a dev. update or even a 2 minute "the patch is almost finished" message have to be contingent on 1C reading this board? They could keep us informed and never read another whiny post again.

You'd think Oleg would have developed a thick skin by now and even if he hasn't, he doesn't have to read this board in order to say "hi!" every once in a while. It's entirely his prerogative to communicate or not communicate but it doesn't really make a great deal of business sense not to. One common theme in all the reviews I've read is the outstanding level of support that the developer gives this series and one constant in this online community is people whining. What's changed?

I agree.

I sometimes wish he/they would post some news. But it's not happening and I don't think it's because they forgot how.

Anyway, whenever whatever it is that they're working on is released, it'll be a surprise. And that's not such a bad thing.

In the meantime, there's plenty of fine simming to be done.
