Work for FSX with this changes.

Fixed it in the panel.cfg by disabling gauge 49 in the vitual cockpit.
//gauge49=dsd_xml_sound3!dsd_xml_sound3,10,10,20,20, ./gauges/A26B_sound.cfg Just add those two "//"

Very good quality. A+

The aircraft doesn't throw a shadow so looks as though it is floating.
Is that the game or the plane at fault?

for fs9 this is a pretty good piece of freeware, very well detailed but frame rate friendly http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

You didn't see one because I switched it off, just as I said in one of my previous posts http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Sure there's a yoke, but it only gets in the way, so why use it?

This is a tricky bird to land, I can tell you! The plane has a high wingloading, so power-off landings - and even flares - are generally speaking a no-no. Just as the RL POH states BTW, i.e. you really have to drive it down...

Yah, gotta love this bad babe http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

And oh yeah, what Luke said as regards AC shadows. Have them switched off because as I said my "computer" is t3H sh1TE http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Looks real nice, M. Appears to be a hot bird to handle. I was using a freeware Martin B-26 for FS9 last summer. It was an interesting experience: for the most part, all I could do was keep its throttles to the wall, and make WIDE turns to avoid stalling. A great airplane for going to point A to point B fast. Not a pylon racer.

Appears to be a hot bird to handle.

It sure is, and that compared with a huge - and thus very effective - rudder makes it a bit of a handful at times http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif Now as they say harder definitely isn't always more realistic, but as regards this AC I'm willing to believe it's actually pretty accurate within FS9's limitations. The FM team consisted of multi-engine rated professional pilots amongst other knowledgeable folks, and as far as they talked about the FM during testing it seems to be if not spot on then at least very close numbers-wise...

But nothing's perfect, and this AC too has a couple of omissions. The default blower is single-stage only, and cowl flaps drag is not modelled. Minor quibbles IMHO, and even more so when you consider that I actually have an XML gauge that does a passable 2-stage supercharger simulation available http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif And there's a gauge / hack for cowl flaps drag available, too, but it doesn't seem to work with this bird http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

A note considering those gauges however: they're available with some better freeware FS9 birds, but are of course still copyrighted to the original authors. So no distributing without permission then...

OK, rant over http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You did your homework! From the accounts I read, I was satisfied the FM for the B-26 was on the mark. So much so it bored me silly. I could understand why they loved it in the Pacific---down low the early model left the Zeros in their exhaust fumes, but it was like flying a lorry!

Nah Leit, just Googling is all http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif But yeah, if there's a simu-bird available I'm interested in I usually do at least some comparisons between the RL AC and its simulated counterpart. Helps weeding out the chaff y'see http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

And the next down the list is of course this (http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/syb2.cgi?section=vintage&file=B50f_901.zip). http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

PS / EDIT: Ach, gets one straight to the download page that link. So OK, go here (http://www.simviation.com/fs2004vintage75.htm) for a description and check out the last AC on the page http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Which Marauder is that, and does it have a 3D pit modelled? Can't stand the 2D panels myself http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/compsmash.gif

I'll have to look it up. Yes, it had a VC. I won't use 2D, either. I deleted it a year ago because the instruments were not duplicated on the co-pilot's side---I thought this had to be an error. I checked it against a manual. So much for intuition! The pit was accurate down to the last detail. I frantically searched it out and reinstalled it! Will get back to you shortly.

OK, I hope you subscribe to Flightsim.com because I think they are the only site with it:

http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/file?rk=ZOaJ6013&cm=LISTFI...6013=main/search.htm (http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/file?rk=ZOaJ6013&cm=LISTFILES&fm=main&pos=10&rp=/cgi/kds%3FZOaJ6013=main/search.htm)

It's a prize winner and others have done lots of skins for it.

Here are the particulars: New aircraft sound files, full virtual cockpit, and full moving parts. Authentically instrumented and highly detailed. This package is specially dedicated to the Marauder Men of WWII. Scenery by Paul Roberts, flight dynamics, sounds, and panel by R.L. Clark and plane by David Eckert.

Good hunting!

Cheers Leit.

Yeah, I remember this Marauder - gave it a spin some years ago and remember not liking something about it then. Well I'll try it again, because frankly speaking it might've been just me...

Thanks again m8, will re-install it soon. S!

Well, it's not state-of-the-art, but it is really is the only decent one around. Wish Shockwave or somebody would do a really nice one.
