Yes, Tony Williams is very knowledgable on guns. His website is worth visiting and as are buying his books.

A little tidbit I picked up on another site. The Germans had a rotary mg in WW1. In a Windsock Datafile Special booklet on Albatros fighters, there is a photo of a reflector gunsight mounted on a D.III.(pg28)
